5 Do not charge the batter y on a sur face (such as a kitchen counter • top) which could be damaged by the acid contained inside the batter y . T ake precautions to protect the sur face on which you charge the batter y . Do not short cir cuit the batter y .

7 Important Information W ARNING ELECTRICAL HAZARD • Never allow children to charge the batter y . Batter y charging must be done by adults only . A child could be injured by the electricity involved in charging the batter y . • Read the safety instructions on the batter y .
8 Only use the batter y and charger recommended for your • vehicle's power system. Refer to the Owner's Manual that came with your vehicle to determine the type of batter y and charger you should use, or call Power Wheels ® Consumer Relations toll-free at 1-800-348-0751.
9 Y our Power Wheels • ® 6 volt batter y is equipped with a built-in thermal fuse. The thermal fuse is a self-resetting safety device which automatically “trips” and shuts down operation of the vehicle if the vehicle is overloaded or the driving conditions too severe.
10 Charger Connector Battery Connector Plug the batter y connector into the charger connector . • Charging the Batter y.
11 Power Indicator Plug the charger into a standard wall outlet. • Note: Use the charger only in a wall outlet. Do not plug the charger into a ceiling outlet. If power fl ow to the wall outlet is controlled by a switch, make sure the switch is ON. The power indicator on the charger does not indicate the charge status of your batter y .
12 If a batter y leak develops, avoid contact with the leaking acid and place the damaged batter y in a plastic bag. See information below for proper disposal. If acid comes in contact with skin or eyes, fl ush with cool water for at least 15 minutes and call a physician.
13 Batter y Disposal Y our Power Wheels • ® batter y is a non-spillable sealed lead-acid batter y . It must be recycled or disposed of in an environmentally sound manner . Do not dispose of a lead-acid batter y in a fi re. The batter y may • explode or leak.
