Battery Charging E CA UTION Use the charger in dr y locations only . W ARNING • Batter y can fall out and injure a child if v ehicle tips ov er . Alwa ys use batter y clamp . • PREVENT FIRE - Do not bypass a P ower Wheels ® fuse. It is a saf ety de vice.
® • Plug the charger into a standard 120 v olt wall outlet. Note: If power flo w to the wall outlet is controlled b y a s witch, make sure the s witch is “ON”. • Before fir st-time use, char ge the battery for at least 18 hours. Nev er charge the batter y longer than 30 hours.
• P osition the vehicle body on its side. • Fit the straight end of the steering column up through the square opening in the v ehicle body and out through the large round hole in the dash. Make sure the steer- ing column is positioned between the guides on the underside of the vehic le body .
7 • Using saf ety scissors, separate the activity panel and the instrument panel. Dispose of the plastic connector . • Apply labels 18 and 20 to the radio dial.
• Rotate the top of the windshield tow ard the front of the vehicle body . • Inser t f our #8 x 1" screws through the holes in the hinge on the windshield and into the v ehicle body . • Tighten the screws with a Phillips Scre wdriver . Do not ov er-tighten.
• Align the tips of the screws with the holes in the other spor t bar cov er marked R ON. Fit the two spor t bar cov ers together . • Tighten the screws with a Phillips scre wdriver . Do not ov er-tighten. Spor t Bar Cov er (RON) Screw Tips Spor t Bar 19 Hood Grille • Lift the hood.
• F ace the back of the v ehicle. • With the gas cap tether pointing down, insert and snap the gas cap assembly into the square opening in the rear of the v ehicle.
• T ur n the v ehicle on its side. • Fit a traction band around a wheel. • Slide a slotted screwdriv er under the traction band to push the traction band onto the ridge in the center of the wheel. Hint: If the traction band is difficult to fit around the wheel, you ma y want to soak it in warm water to soften it slightly .
® ® Proper label application will help to keep the labels looking their best! Keep the f ollowing guidelines in mind when applying labels: • W ash y our hands bef ore applying the labels. • Bef ore applying the labels, wipe the surf ace of the vehicle with a clean, dry cloth to remov e any dust or oils .

If a battery leak develops, av oid contact with the leaking acid and place the damaged batter y in a plastic bag. See inf or mation belo w f or proper disposal. If acid comes in contact with skin or ey es, flush with cool water f or at least 15 minutes and call a physician.

Note: T o prev ent damage to the motors, stop the vehicle bef ore s witching between FOR W ARD and REVERSE. • Push the bottom button (REV) on the FOR W ARD/REVERSE switch to drive in re verse .
