W ARNING ELECTRICAL HAZARD 8 About Thermal Fuses Y our P ower Wheels ® 12 volt battery is equipped with a built-in thermal fuse. The ther mal fuse is a self-resetting saf ety device which automatically “trips” and shuts do wn operation of the v ehicle if the vehicle is ov erloaded or the driving conditions too sev ere.
9 Battery Charging • Plug the charger connector into the batter y . • Plug the charger into a standard wall outlet . Note: If power flo w to the wall outlet is controlled by a s witch, make sure the s witch is “ON”. • Bef ore first-time use, charge the batter y f or at least 18 hours.

11 Assembl y Dash • Replace the sound and light unit into the dash. • Insert three #10 x 1 / 2 " screws into the unit, as shown. Tighten the screws with a Phillips scre wdriver . Do not ov er-tighten. Sound and Light Unit 5 • Insert three “AA” (LR6) alkaline batter ies, as indicated inside the batter y compar tment.
12 Assembl y Batter y Clamp Unit Dash Light Wire IMPORTANT! The battery clamp unit m ust be assembled to the dash bef ore assembling the dash to the vehicle bod y . • Fit the battery clamp unit into the dash so that the clamp fits into the groov es in the dash.
13 Assembl y 2 1 Batter y Compar tment Dash • P osition the dash on the vehicle body . • Mak e sure the motor connector is through the groov e in the dash. • Insert a #10 x 1 / 2 " scre w through each of the two cor ner dash tabs nearest to the passenger compar tment .
14 Proper label application will help to keep the labels looking their best! When applying labels, keep the follo wing guidelines in mind: • W ash your hands bef ore applying the labels. • Bef ore applying the labels, wipe the surf ace of the vehicle with a clean, dr y cloth to remov e any dust or oils.
15 • Fit the wide notch in the side of a headlight lens under the wide tab on a lens guard. • Press firmly on the inside of the headlight lens to snap it into the lens guard. • Repeat this procedure to assemb le the other headlight lens to the remaining lens guard.
16 Assembl y Hood T abs • P osition the hood ov er the front of the vehicle body as shown. • Inser t the tabs on the hood into the slots in the vehicle body . • Close the hood. Slot Slot 24 Brush Guard Winch 25 • Fit the winch against the brush guard.
17 • T ur n the seat upside down. • Insert the fastener end of a shor t seat belt strap through the slot near the outer edge of the seat. Make sure the side of the seat belt with the f astener faces the outer edge of the seat.
• T urn the vehicle on its side. • Inser t two #10 x 1 / 2 " scre ws into the holes in the underside of each rear wheel well, through the v ehicle body and into the ends of the spor t bar . • Tighten the screws with a Phillips scre wdriver .
19 Assembl y 37 Rear Bumper Suppor t T abs • T urn the vehicle upright. F ace the rear of the vehicle . • Fit the lower r ail on the rear bumper ov er the rear bumper supports. • Gently bend the tabs at the bottom of the rear bumper under the vehicle .
20 Label Decoration G Proper label application will help to keep the labels looking their best! 22 Battery Installation H IMPORT ANT! Use only a P ower Wheels ® 12 v olt batter y . Use of any other battery will damage your v ehicle. Make sure that you charge the battery for at least 18 hours using the enclosed P ow er Wheels ® 12 v olt charger before operating y our vehicle f or the first time.
23 Battery Care and Disposal I If a battery leak develops, av oid contact with the leaking acid and place the damaged batter y in a plastic bag. Please ref er to the information on this page for proper disposal. If acid comes in contact with skin or eyes, flush with cool water f or at least 15 minutes and call a ph ysician.

25 Ho w to Operate Y our V ehicle K • Make sure the shifter is in the lo w speed position . • Press down on the f oot pedal . The vehicle goes f orward at a maximum of 2 1 / 2 mph . • Help your child pr actice steer ing to lear n how f ar and how quickly to turn the steering wheel when dr iving f orward in low speed.
26 Caring For Y our V ehicle M Adv anced Use - High Speed Drive • Check all scre ws, cap nuts and protectiv e cov er ings regularly and tighten as required. Check plastic par ts on a regular basis f or cracks or brok en pieces. • During snowy or rainy w eather , the vehicle should be stored inside or under a protective co ver .
