33 English BEFORE T AKING PICTURES Using the autof ocus The autofocus will w ork in almost all situations; however , there are certain conditions that may cause the autof ocus function to n ot work properl y . If the autofocus function is not working properly , set the focus range to capture images (page 72).
English 34 The fo llowing e x amples are some of the situations where the autof ocus function ma y work, but not as desired. i When both near and far objects are present Use the focus-loc k function to lock the focus on an object at the same distance as the desired subjec t, th en reposition the camera to compose the picture .

53 English EXPOSURE CORRECTION By assigning the e xposure correction operation shortcut to the SET butto n (page 123), you can make the image lighter or darker when capturing images. 1 Assign the operation shortcut to the SET button (page 123). 2 Toggle the SET button in the direction for which the operation shortcut was assigned.

61 English IMA GE QU ALITY Video clip image quality setting When it comes to video clips, a lar g er number of pixels and a higher frame rate means bett er image quality a nd smoother pla yback. O n the other hand, the file size becomes lar ge and uses more memory .
English 62 Still image resolution setting By setting the still image resoluti on (pixels) to a higher setting, image detail is enhanced for a smoother , finer picture . However , the file size also becomes large and uses more me mory . Select the resolution setting that suits your purpose.

75 English LIGHT -MEASURING MODE SETTING Y ou can select from 3 types of light-measuring modes. Multi-section light- measuring: The exp osure is adjusted after sampling from multiple areas of the entire shooting screen.
English 76 ISO SENSITIVITY With the initial se ttings, the ISO sensit ivity is automatically set according to the brightness of the subject. Howe ver , the ISO sensitivity can be set to a fixed setting. 1 Displa y PAGE 2 of the RE CORDING MENU (page 56).
