4 Safety and warnings Always grip the plug firmly and pull straight out from the outlet . Do not plug in any other appliance at the same power point as your refriger ator or use extension cords or double adapters. Repair or replace immediately all electric service cords that have become fr ayed or otherwise damaged.

10 Installation instructions 11 Attach double sided foam t o the back of the water filter head as shown in Diagram 5. Write the date to be replaced on the filt er (date installed +6 months). Remove double sided foam backing and attach filter to the desir ed position as located in step 10 (ref er to previous page).

Ensure white 6 mm (¼”) tubing is routed aw ay from sharp objects, sharp corners (beware of kinking tube as this will stop water flow), clear of the refriger ator unit compartment and not in a location where it can be squ ashed.

Installation Y our F isher & Paykel A ctiveSmart™ refrigerator is fitted with front and r ear rollers, designed for moving the pr oduct in the for wards and backwards direction. Av oid moving the product in a sideways direction as this may damage the rollers or the floor covering/surface.
13 Installation instructions 6. What to do if y our product is unstable E Gently push the refrigerator back until the rear rollers contact the floor . Measure the gap under the front f oot, which has come off the floor . Obtain some solid packing material (hardwood, plastic,etc) which fits firmly into the gap under the foot.
14 Installation instructions Before placing f ood in the fresh food or freez er compartments Remove all packaging. Ensure tha t all transit clips are remov ed from the refrigerator . These ar e small rubber stops located at the back of the shelv es.
15 Installation instructions Storing your r efrigerator When storing your cleaned appliance , leave the doors open. This allows air to circulat e and prevents the build up of bacteria and moulds. Before using again, clean w ell using a mixture of warm water and baking soda (add 1 teaspoon of baking soda to each 500 ml of water).
16 All about the display The display screen enables y ou to view and modify all the featur es and options on your refrigerator . F or example, you can change the temper ature in your fresh f ood and freezer compartment, and select the FastFr eeze function when you want to quickly freeze meat.

18 Using the displa y options Bottle Chill This function allows you to chill y our beverages more rapidly in the fr eezer without the worry of forgetting about them. The time taken to chill depends on the size of your bev erage. Bottle Chill allows you t o customise this chill time.
19 Using the displa y options The temper ature of your r efrigerator and fr eezer When the refrigerator is first turned on it will take appr oximately 2 to 3 hours t o cool. T o adjust the temperature of a c ompar tment, use the button to scroll t o the screen, use the button to select the compar tment y ou want to change.
20 Using the displa y options Sabbath mode In Sabbath mode alarms, lights and displays are deactivated . Sabbath mode can be activated or deactivated by holding down the , , buttons for 4seconds. Once in Sabbath mode: The interior light will not turn on when the refrigera tor isopened.
21 Using y our wat er dispenser Dispensing Y our water dispenser has been designed f or one -handed operation. T o dispense water push the dispensing pad gently , using a glass or container . This pad requires only a gentle pr ess to activate.
22 W ater filter All the water to y our refrigerator is filter ed to remove impurities thr ough a car tridge located in a position of your choice outside the refrigera tor .
23 W ater filter T o reset the filter indicator Impor tant! W e recommend the wat er filter is used from the point of installation. Do not reset indicator before filter is changed or filter monitoring will be inac curate. Press and hold and buttons for 4 seconds t o reset the filter indicator .
24 Ice maker Y our ice maker is designed to aut omatically dispense ice until it senses that the bin is full. So the more ice y ou use, the more it makes. It is even clever enough to sense when ther e is no bin in place to catch the ic e and it will not dispense any ice.
25 Using y our ice maker Information about y our ice maker Y our automatic ice maker will pr oduce approximat ely eight cubes of ice every 3 – 4 hours, depending on freezer compartment temperatur e and number of door openings. The ice cube tray will fill with w ater once the freezer has r eached the correct temperature .
26 Fruit and v egetable bins and humidity control lid The fruit and vegetable bins f eature a unique lid which provides two functions: The humidity lid seals the bins and provides a humid microclima te to extend storage times of fruit and vegetables.
27 ActiveSmart ™ special features Slim storage dr awer (wher e fitted) The bins at the bottom of the refriger ator provide storage space f or items that you may want t o keep separate from the r est of the refrigerator . These slim storage bins can be used for deli it em storage, beverages or f or defrosting foods.
28 Cleaning and caring for y our refrigerator Exterior Stainless exterior doors It is impor tant when cleaning the exterior door surface of your refrigerator , to only use liquid dishwashing deter gent dissolved in warm water and a soft cloth. Dry the door with a clean, lint free cloth.

30 Cleaning and caring for y our refrigerator Humidity Control S ystem Impor tant! When cleaning the shelf above the vegetable bins, we recommend that y ou do not disassemble the Humidity Control System from the shelf .
31 Cleaning and caring for y our refrigerator T o remove tr ays or fix ed bins F or ease of removal, empty food fr om tray/bin first. Hold the centre fr ont of the tray/bin handle. Lift vertically to unclip from the runners and pull tray/bin tow ards you to remo ve.
32 Refrigerat or sounds Normal refrigera tor sounds ActiveSmart™ refrigerators, with their ex cellent energy ratings and c ooling per formance , can produce sounds somewhat diff erent to your old r efrigerator . Normal operational sounds include: F an air flow sound.
33 Storing f ood in your r efrigerat or Y our refrigerator helps t o extend the storage times of fresh perishable foods . The cold temperature slo ws down the major causes of food spoilage – namely , the growth of bacteria, moulds and yeasts, and chemical and ph ysical reactions.
34 Storing f ood in your r efrigerat or Red meat Place fresh r ed meat on a plate and loosely cov er with waxed paper , plastic wrap or foil . Store cooked and r aw meat on separate plat es. This will prev ent any juices lost from the ra w meat contaminating the cooked product.
35 Storing f ood in your fr eezer The use of temperatur es of -18°C or colder to store f ood means that the food can be kept for longer periods than when refrigeration temperatur es are used.
36 Storing f ood in your fr eezer Meat, poultry and game Do not tr y to fr eeze more than 1 kg meat per 25 L of freez er storage volume at any one time . Meat must be frozen quickly in order to maintain its texture . Do not stuff poultr y bef ore freezing.
