4 Loading Paper Loading Paper Y ou can print documents and photos on a v ariety of paper types and sizes. F or details, see page 7. (F or instructions on loading envelopes, see your online User’s Guide .) 1. P ull out the paper cassette. Note: If you are using legal-size paper , extend the paper cassette.

Always load paper short edge firs t; don ’ t load it si deways.) Note: Make sure the paper is l oaded against the edge guide an d not sticking out from the end of the cassette.

Placing Originals for Copying or Scanning 9 Placing Originals for Copying or Scanning Before y ou copy or scan, place your docume nts or photos (up to letter- or A4-size) on the scanner glass. 1. 24 Replacing In k Cartri dges Replacing Ink Cartridges Make sure y ou have a new ink cartridge before you begin. Caution: Do not open ink cartridge packages until you are ready to install the ink. Cartridges are vacuum packed to maintain reliability .
