Quick Start — MSG0804 and MSG0808 Installation Step 1 T urn off power to the switcher and all other devices that will be connected. Step 2 T o rack mount the switcher , install the included brackets, then mount the switcher . Otherwise, install the four rubber feet (included) and place the switcher on a desktop.

Remote Control MSG Matrix Switchers • Remote Control 5-2 Remote Control Port (RS-232/RS-422/RS-485) The MSG Matrix Switcher RS-232/RS-422/RS-485 port connector is used to connect to a host or external controlling device, such as a computer or control system, which can generate the proper command codes and recognize the switcher ’s responses.
MSG Matrix Switchers • Remote Control 5-3 T ermination resistors should only be turned on when operating in RS-422/ RS-485 mode, and then only for the first and last units on a long serial line.
