Each I/O boar d is identified by the input and output numbers supported by the board position (1 - 8, 9 - 16, and so on). The transceiver modules on fiber optic I/O boards and the BNC connectors on SDI/HD-SDI boards are identified as A through H.

3-21 Fiber Matrix 6400 Switcher • Operation Using presets The current configuration (configuration 0) can be saved as a pr eset in any one of 64 preset memory addr esses. Presets can be saved and r ecalled from the fr ont panel. The preset locations ar e assigned to input buttons 1 through 64.

3-25 Fiber Matrix 6400 Switcher • Operation 4 . Unmute the outputs : One at a time , press and hold the Output 3 button and then the Output 4 buttons for approximately 2 seconds until each button lights steadily . The output 3 and output 4 signals are unmuted.
Operation, cont’d Fiber Matrix 6400 Switcher • Operation 3-26 Performing a system reset fr om the fr ont panel The front panel r eset is identical to the E ZXXX } SIS command (see chapter 4, “Programmer ’s Guide”). A system reset clears all ties and pr esets, all output mutes, and resets all I/O gr ouping.
3-27 Fiber Matrix 6400 Switcher • Operation Selecting the rear panel Remote port pr otocol and baud rate The switcher can support either RS-232 or RS-422 serial communication protocol, and can operate at 9600, 19200, 38400, and 1 15200 baud rates. The settings of these variables can be viewed and changed from the fr ont panel.
Operation, cont’d Fiber Matrix 6400 Switcher • Operation 3-28 Rear Panel Operations The rear panel has a Reset button that initiates four levels of r esets (numbered 1, 3, 4, and 5 for the sake of comparison with an Extron IPL product). The Reset button is recessed, so use a pointed stylus, ballpoint pen, or Extr on T weeker to access it.
3-29 Fiber Matrix 6400 Switcher • Operation Performing soft system resets (r esets 3, 4, and 5) Perform a soft reset of the switcher as follows: 1 . Use an Extron T weeker or other small screwdriver.
Operation, cont’d Fiber Matrix 6400 Switcher • Operation 3-30 Performing a hard r eset (r eset 1) The hard r eset function restor es the switcher to the base firmware that it was shipped with. After a hard reset, events do not automatically start, but user settings and files are r estored.
