Operation Operation Note: Deter mine the left and right sides of the machine from the nor mal operating position. Controls Motion Control Levers The motion control lev ers located on each side of the console control the forw ard and rev erse motion of the mac hine.
Operation Pull eac h lev er rearw ard and outward to loc k. Pull each lev er inward and push forw ard to reset. Do Not tow machine. PTO Engagement Switch Located right of center on the console (left side of ignition switch). Switch m ust be pulled out to the “R OT A TE” position to engag e the blades .
Operation Important: Operator must be in seat before the PTO can be engaged. 1. Set the throttle to the “MID W A Y” position. 2. Pull the PTO switc h outward to the “R OT A TE” position. 3. Place the throttle in the “F AST” position to begin mowing .

Maintenance Maintenance Note: Deter mine the left and right sides of the mac hine from the nor mal operating position. W ARNING While maintenance or adjustments are being made, someone could star t the engine. Accidental star ting of the engine could seriously injure y ou or other bystanders.

Maintenance 1. Stop engine, w ait for all moving parts to stop , and remov e key . Engag e parking brake . 2. Visually inspect mac hine for any loose hardw are or any other possible problem. Tighten hardw are or correct the problem before operating . Service Air Cleaner Service Interval: Every 50 hours—Service the air cleaner .
Maintenance Lubricate Grease Fittings Note: See char t for ser vice inter v als. 1. Stop engine, w ait for all moving parts to stop , and remov e key . Engag e parking brake . 2. Lubricate ttings with one to tw o pumps of NGLI grade #2 multi-purpose gun grease.
Maintenance 9. Insert the assembled nut and axle into the wheel on the side of the wheel with the new seal and bearing . 10. With the open end of the wheel facing up , ll the area inside the wheel around the axle full of NGLI grade #1 m ulti-purpose grease.
Maintenance 6. Add oil until it reac hes the FULL COLD line on the expansion reser v oir . Exmark Premium Hydro Oil is recommended. R efer to the c hart for an acceptable alternativ e: Hydro Oil Change Inter v al Exmark Premium Hy dro Oil (Preferred) 500 Hours Mobil 1 15W50 250 Hours 7.
