USER’S GUIDE: G AME TIME ELE CTRONIC F OO TBALL MODEL NO.: NF-06.
C ongratula tions on your purchase of NFL Game Time Electronic F ootball! This is perhaps the most challenging , exciting NFL stra tegy game ever! Pla yers battle head-to-head for glory on the gridiron.
NFL Game Time Electronic F ootball is a 2- player str ategy game which tests your ability to choose the right play s, direct blockers, read your opponent and r eac t to their strat egy on offense , defense and special teams.
Note: the LEDs on the Game Clock will always count down fr om the final LED to the first, regar dless of the quar ter length you choose. If you set the clock for 15-minute quarters, each LED will repr esent 1 minute. If you set the clock for a shorter quar ter , each LED will repr esent a smaller time increment.
The Special T eams Dial is used in any kick ing situation. It has five positions: Off, Kickoff , Onside, P unt, Field Goal . The Special T eams Dial must be in the Off position in order to run a normal play .
F ootball games are divided into f our quar ters, with a special break in the action at halftime. Y ou’ re probably familiar with how f ootball works, but her e’ s how it works in NFL Game Time Electronic F ootball: Play begins with the opening C oin T oss and the ensuing Opening Kickoff .
T eams may attempt an onside kick in any kickoff situation. Block ing schemes do not affect the outcome of the pla y. Onside vs. Onside If the K icking T eam chooses Onside Kick and the Receiving team also chooses Onside Kick, the success ra te is ver y low .
• If the Offense runs a play on 4 th do wn and is unable t o make a first down, the Defense takes possession of the ball a t the last ball loca tion. • T he O ffense ma y also choose to Punt or a ttempt a Field Goal on 4 th down, if they do not think they will be able t o make a first do wn on the nex t play .
• Def ense should set the Special T eams dial t o “Field Goal” . • Offense pr esses SNAP to star t rotor . • Def ense presses BLITZ to stop rot or . The length of the kick , in conjunction with the Play Rotor , determines the success or failure of a F ield Goal.
