USER’S GUIDE: G AME TIME ELE CTRONIC F OO TBALL MODEL NO.: NF-06.
C ongratulations on y our purchase of NFL Game T ime Elec tronic F ootball! This is perhaps the most challenging, ex citing NFL strategy game ever! Play ers battle head-to-head for glor y on the gridiron.
NFL Game Time Electronic F ootball is a 2- player strat egy game which tests your ability to choose the right plays, dir ec t blockers, read your opponent and react to their strat egy on offense, def ense and special teams.
Note: the LEDs on the Game Clock will always count down from the final LED t o the first, regardless of the quarter length you choose. If you set the clock for 15-minute quarters, each LED will represent 1 minute . I f you set the clock for a shorter quarter, each LED will represent a smaller time incr ement.
The Special T eams Dial is used in any kick ing situation. It has five positions: Off, Kickoff , Onside, Punt, F ield Goal. The Special T eams Dial must be in the Off position in order to run a normal play .
Football games ar e divided into four quarters, with a special break in the action at halftime. Y ou ’ re probably familiar with how football works, but here ’ s how it works in NFL Game Time Electronic F ootball: Play begins with the opening Coin T oss and the ensuing Opening Kickoff.
T eams may attempt an onside kick in any kickoff situation. Blocking schemes do not affect the outcome of the play . Onside vs. Onside If the Kick ing T eam chooses Onside Kick and the Receiving team also chooses Onside Kick, the success rate is v er y low .
• If the Offense runs a play on 4 th down and is unable to make a first do wn, the Defense takes possession of the ball at the last ball location. • The Offense may also choose t o Punt or attempt a F ield Goal on 4 th down, if they do not think they will be able to make a first down on the next play .
• Defense should set the Special T eams dial to “Field Goal” . • Offense presses SNAP t o start rotor . • Defense pr esses BLITZ to stop rotor . The length of the kick, in conjunction with the Play Rotor , determines the success or failure of a Field Goal.
