15 2 M O U S E A N D F R O N T P A N E L O P E R A T I O N ECOR264 DVRs support multiple sources to control the DVR. It can be controlled with a mouse, the front panel, an EKB5 00, and the handheld IR remote control. This chapter will cov er the basic operation using the mouse and the front panel button s.
16 2. 1.3 Op er a t io n in t h e C o nf i g ur a t i on M e nu s Click on the icon to access the Configuration Menu. The Configu ration menu screens (shown in Figure 2-2 OSD Menu) are divided into 3 main sections . Figure 2- 2 OSD Menu 1. In section 1 , there are ten setup options available.

21 3 . G E N E R A L D V R O P E R A T I O N S This ch apter introduces the operations on major functions including pla yback, layout change, sequence, triplex operatio ns, copy, and search. 3 . 1 R E C OR D By default, the DVR will always be in record mode.

23 3 . 5 P LA Y B A C K The playback bar is the fastest way to show video from the e xact time which users wa nt to see. The playback bar allows a user to see both a time line and the current playback indicator. The user can then click the time line to move the indicator to the po sition which they want to see.

28 3 . 9 D I S P L A Y Press the Display button on the menu by using th e mouse or selecting this icon with the f ront panel keys and pre ssing ‘Enter’. Pressing/clicking cyc les through the four OSD formats: 1. Press to show camera information. Please see the f ollowing table for camera information icons.

40 Date: Sets the current date of DVR. Time: Set s the current time of DVR. Record Mode: Cho ose from Normal+Event : Normal recording plus event recording . Event Only: Event recording only. Schedule Re c: Schedule recording. For Event reco rding, enter the estimated number of hours per d ay for event recording.
41 Network Type : Static IP: Use r sets a static IP for network connection. DHCP: DHCP server in LAN will automatically assign IP fo r network connection. PPPoE: This is for d irect DSL connection application ONL Y (no route r). Check with your I SP to see if they use PPPoE.

43 Covert: Check t he box to hide the ca mera picture in live and se quence modes. However, th e image will still be recorded and can be played back by any user who ha s playback rights . Record Mode: 2 record modes are available. Normal + Event: Th is recording mode includes continuous and event recording.
44 Recording capacity remaining for all cameras (shown to the right of the Normal Speed field ) : The number here indicate s the remaining unallocated recording ca pacity available for all cameras, s caled according to the image size selected for the current camera .

Brightness: Ad justs how bright/dark the p icture appears. If d etails appear to be lo st in the shadows or darker regions, try increasing the B rightness.

50 Transparent: Alarm o utput continues as long a s there is a video loss. Trans+Timeout : Alarm output continues until the event ends, then continues for a set t ime duration. Apply To: This bu tton can be used to copy the video loss settings to other ca meras.

66 4 . 6 S C H E D U LE S ET TI N G Figure 4 -20 is a screenshot of the SCHEDULE SETTING MENU . I n this menu you can set a unique configuration to enable recording during a sp ecified time p eriods. This menu is used to configure Express Setup, Holidays and detailed Schedule settings.
67 Event Frame Rate: FPS recording rate for e vents. Selectable frame rate includes 30f ps, 15 fps, 1 0fps, 7.5fps, 5fps, 1fp s or 0fps. (0fps means no event re cording). 69 To Set Schedule using Mouse 1. Click on d esired start t ime b lock (no numbers on it) on a time bar. A t this time, the selected time block will b e h ighlighted in blue frame a nd the entire time ba r will be highlighted by red frame. The re are 24 blocks on the t ime bar representing 24 hours respect ively.
70 3. Selecting camera : Use Right/Le ft arrow keys to select desired camera to configure. Select ed camera number will be highlighted by a blue frame. See abo ve image. 4. Enter time bar editing m ode : Use Up/Down arrow key to switch to tim e ba r e diting m ode .
71 7. Changing recordi ng mode (color) of a timezone : Use Right /Left arrow key to switch to the first block (with nu mber on it) o f a timezone. Clicking Enter bu tton, and this t imezone will switch to another color, which mean s switching to another record mode.
72 Resolution: Sele ct recording resolution. NTSC: 704 x480 / 704x240 / 352x240 PAL: 704x576 / 704x288 / 352x288 Normal: Frame rate in images per second for continuous recording. It is important to keep track of the normal recording resources being a llocated at each hours of the day.

74 4. 6.4 Al ar m Ac t i on Figure 4- 24 Schedule Menu-Alar m Action Defines recording response to “alarm” input trigge r signals by t ime of day on specific d ays of the we ek and/or ho lidays and ‘other’ days. Alarm: S elect a number to change the sch edule for that alarm input trigger.
75 4. Change the sect ion to different mode (with a d ifferent color) by clicking on the first blo ck of the section. The color switches from g ray -> o range -> g ray, e very time us er clicks the first block of a section. Orange indicates ‘alarm action recording ON’.
76 6. Editing blocks in a time bar : when a time bar is chosen (highlighted in red frame), the pre ss Enter b utton to se lect that time bar f or configuration; then t he first block of this bar will be selected (highlighted in blue frame).

78 4 . 7 N E T W O R K S E T TI N G Figure 4-25 is a screenshot of the NETWORK SETTING MENU . This menu is for configuring the DVR for a network connectio n. NOTE: Since every Network Configu ration is different, please check with your Network Administrato r or ISP to see if your DVR should use specific IP addresses and/or port numb ers.
