4 T o reduce the risk of electric shock, this appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). This plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way . If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician to install the proper outlet.

Cord Retainer When preparing to use vacuum, firmly push the electrical cord down into the cord retainer . This will place the electrical cord out of the way while you vacuum. 6 HOW T O USE (continued) Handle Collapse Button T o collapse the handle from the upright position, press handle collapse button, rotate handle down.
7 HOW T O USE ACCESSORIES 1 Collapse the handle from the upright position. The dusting brush and upholstery nozzle fit on both the hose and the wand with a built-in crevice tool. Use the dusting brush to dust furniture, blinds, books, lamps, and shelves.
8 T o Change Dust Cup Foam Filter NOTE: T urn off the switch and unplug the electrical cord before changing the foam filter . Never operate the vacuum cleaner without the dust cup or the foam filter . HINT : When cleaning new carpet for the first time, cup will fill quickly .
