6 Star t The ST ART pad begins any function. If it is not touched within 5 secon ds after touchi ng a pad, “PRESS ST ART” will scroll in the displa y as a remind er . If ST ART pa d is not touche d withi n 2 minutes af ter touchi ng a pad, the d isplay will return to t he time of day mo de and the progra mmed functi on will be canceled .
7 Ve n t F a n The ve nt (exha ust) fan has 2 speeds: hig h and low . T o protect the microwave oven , if the t emperature from the range or cooktop below the micr owave oven gets too hot, the vent fan will a utomatically tu r n on at low speed. I t may stay on for u p to 1 hour to cool the micr owave oven.
8 Cooking G uidelines Covering Covering food helps r etain moisture , shorten cook time and reduce spatteri ng. Use the l id suppli ed with cookw are. If a lid is not availab le, wax pape r , pape r towels or plasti c wrap approved for microwave ovens may be used.
9 Micr o w av e Cooking Po wer Many recipes for micr owave cooking specify which cooking power to use by percent or name. For example, 70%=Medium-High. Use the follow ing chart as a general guide for the suggested cooking power of specific foods. Manual Cooking To U s e : 1.
