INTRODUCTION The Ericsson GE Conventio nal MDS VHF R adio is a rug - ged two-way FM mobile radio which o perat es in the 1 4 8-174 MHz frequency band. The MDS is a wide band synthesized ra- dio utilizing microcomputer technology to provid e reliable high quality simplex t wo-way mo bile communic atio ns.

Receiver The RF front e nd of the rec eiver includes t he PIN di ode T/R switch, the tuned bandpass preselector filters, a nd th e low noise RF am plifier . T he f ilters have a 12 MH z b and- width, and are factory t uned for rec eiving in the 150-162 MHz bandwidth.
