18 Purchasing EPSON Ink C artridges A window may also appear on your computer screen when y ou try to print when ink is low . This window can optionally display ink offers and other updates from Epson. Note: To disable checking for ink offers or updates from Epson, see the instruction s in your online User’s Guide .
Replacing Ink Cartridges 19 Replacing Ink Cartridges Make sure you have a new ink cartridge before you begin. Y ou must install new cartridges immediately after remo ving the old ones. Caution: Do not open ink cartridge packages until you are ready to instal l the ink.
20 Replacing Ink Cartridges 5. Before you open the new cartridge package, shake it gently four or five times. Then remo ve the cartridge from the package. Caution: Do not touch the green chip or the small window on the side of the cartridge. This can damage the ink cartridge.
Replacing Ink Cartridges 21 8. Lower the scanner unit. 9. P ress OK to begin charging the ink. This takes about 2 minutes. When y ou see a completion message on the LCD scr een, ink charging is finished. Caution: Never turn off the EP SON printer while ink is char ging or you’ll waste ink.
