Menu Settings and Explanations User D efau lt Settings The settings made in this menu become your defaul t settings for sending faxes. For details on the setting items, see the list of menus in F ax mode. Send Settings Batch Send See the pages that de scribe these features for more details.
Menu Settings and Explanations Basic Se tting s F ax Speed Select the fax transm ission speed. W e recommend selecting Slow(9,600bps) when a communicatio n error occurs frequently , when sending/receiving a fax to/from abroad, or when you are using an IP ( VoIP) phone service.

Loading P aper in the P aper Cassett e 1. Check that the prin ter is not operatin g, and then p u ll out the paper casset te. Not e: Remove the pape r cass ette cover from pape r cass ette 2 . 2. Slide the edge guides t o their maxi mu m positio n. Not e: When using pape r l arge r than A4 siz e, ex te nd the pap er cass ette .
3. Slide the front edge guide to the paper size you wan t to use. 4. W ith the prin table side facing down, load paper against the fron t edge guide . c Impor t ant: ❏ M ake sur e the paper does not extend beyond the d symbol at the end of the paper cassette.

4. Slide th e edge guid es to the edg es of the paper . 5. On the contro l panel, sele ct Set u p > Pap e r S e tu p > Rear Paper Feed , and th en set the size an d type o f the paper y ou l oaded in the r ear paper feed. 6. Slide out the ou tp ut tray .
Placing Originals Place originals on the scanner g lass or the ADF . U se t he scanner glass for originals that the AD F does not su pport. Y ou can scan multip le originals and both sides of the o riginals at the same time with the AD F .

Managing C onta c ts Registering a co ntacts list allows you to easily enter dest inations. Y ou can register up to 200 en tries, and you can use the contacts list when you en ter a fax num ber , enter a destination for attaching a scanned image to an email, and saving a scanned image to a netw ork f older .

Printing an A nti-Cop y Pattern (for W indow s Only) Y ou can print documents with invisib le letters such as "Cop y". ese letters ap pear when the do cument is photocopied so that the copies can b e distinguished from the original. Y ou can als o add your o wn anti-cop y pat tern .

Sc anning to a Network F older or FTP Ser ver Y ou can save the sc anned image to a specied folder on a network. Y ou can specif y the folder by en tering a folder pa th d ire ct ly , but it may be e a sie r if you reg ister the fo lder inf ormatio n in the co ntacts list rst.

Connecting to a Standard Phone Line (PSTN) or PBX Connect a phone cable from the telephone wall jack or PBX port to the LINE port on the b ack of the prin ter .
Not e: If you r DSL mo dem is not equ ipped with a b uil t-in DS L lter, con nect a separ ate DS L lter. C onnec ting Y our Phone Device to the Printer When using the p rinter and yo ur telephon e on a single phone line, co nnect the telephone to the printer .
