2 2 Attach the Paper Support Insert t he paper su pport in the slots a t the back o f the printe r’s sheet feeder. 3 Install the Ink Cartridges You must insta ll both ink ca rtridges and l eave them ins talled or the printer won’t work. 1. Plug the p o wer cord into a gro unded outlet.
3 3. Press the P power button to turn on the printer. The P power light fl ashes, th e B black and A color ink out lights co me on, an d the ink cart ridge holders mo ve left to th e installa tion pos ition. Always use the P power button to turn the pr inter on or off; never use an external switch, such as a power strip swit ch.

5 4 Load Pap er Load a stack of pla in paper o r special ink jet paper. A samp le pac k of EPSON in k jet papers came with your printer. Small er size papers, such as 4 x 6-inch Photo Paper, have specifi c loading instruction s; see your Printer Basics book for instructions.
6 5 Connec t the Prin ter to You r Computer 1. Make sure th e printer and your co mputer are turned off. 2. C onnect the U SB/Parallel Ada pter cable to the printe r’s para llel conn ector; then squeeze th e wire clips t ogether to lock it in place.
7 Install the Software Now that you’ve set up yo ur printer, you’re ready t o install the software from the printer software CD-ROM included with thi s package. It includes printer software (also call ed a printer dri v er), the el ectronic EPSON Stylus COLOR 660 Reference Guid e , and bonus software applications.
8 5. Sele ct Specify a location . Don’t select any other option. Then use t he Browse button to locate your CD-ROM dri v e and the Browser DriversWIN9X directory. Cli ck OK to close the Browse fo r Folder window. The correct l o cation appea rs in the Sp ecify a loca tion box; c lick Next .

Click Next to inst all your printer driver. 9. At the next screen, select Sear ch for the best drive r for your device and click Next .

11 2 Checking Your I nstallation To verify that your USB software installed properly, chec k the Device Manager. Click St art , point to Settings , and click Cont rol Panel . Then double-click System and c lick th e Device Manager tab. You should see EPSON USB Printer Devices listed .
