12 Description of the appliance P osition 40°C Easy to iron. In this position the laundry is gently washed and spun to avoid any cr easing. In this way ironing is easier .
13 ELECTRONIC DRYING button This button enables you to choose the r equired degr ee of drying for cottons and synthetics: - Stor e dry - Ir on dry (not for synthetics) The drying time is automatically adjusted by the machine: the laundry will be dried to the selected degr ee of dryness.
The soak pr ogramme ends with a short spin in pr ogrammes for Cotton and Synthetics, and with emptying of the water without spinning for Delicates. PREW ASH The machine performs a pr ewash cycle at 30°C max.
Display The display shows the following information: • Dur ation of the selected progr amme (in minutes) , calculated auto- matically on the basis of the maximum r ecommended load for each type of fabric. • Selected drying time (max. 130 minutes for cotton, 1 00 minutes for synthetics).
Cancelling a pr ogr amme T o cancel a progr amme which is running, turn the progr amme selector dial to the RESET O position. W arning! After a progr amme which ends with water in the drum (RINSE HOLD option), turn the selector dial fir st to O and then to the DRAIN pr ogramme.
Deter gent dispenser drawer Compartment for pr ewash or soak detergent and stain r emover . The prewash or soak deter gent is added at the beginning of the wash progr amme. The stain r emover is added during the STAIN-Action phase in the main wash. Compartment for powder or liquid deter gent used for main wash.

W eight of laundry T ypes of fabric and car e labels The labels on garments help you to select the most suitable wash pr o- gr amme. The laundry should be sorted out according to the type of fab- ric and the instructions indicated on car e labels. T emperatur es indicated on labels are always maximum temper atures.
Delicates Micr ofibres, synthetics or curtains marked with these symbols r equire a very gentle tr eatment. The DELICA TES progr amme is suitable for this type of fabric. W oollens and particularly delicate items Fabrics such as wool, wool mix or silk marked with this symbol ar e par- ticularly sensitive to machine washing.
21 Deter gents and additives Which deter gent?.... T o ensure you obtain the best wash r esults from your appliance, it is important to use the right deter gent in your everyday wash, and only deter gents recommended for use in automatic machines.
And in which form? Not only ar e there differ ent types of detergent, but they ar e also available in differ ent forms. Whether you chose a powder or liquid in traditional or compact form is your own per sonal choice. TRADITIONAL POWDERS P our the powder directly into the dispenser dr awer .
23 Pr eparing the drying cycle As a dryer , the machine works on the condensation principle. Ther efore, the water tap must be open and the dr ain hose must dr ain water into a sink or into the drain pipe, even during the dry- ing cycle .
Drying symbols on garment labels Always look at the garment label to check whether garments can be machine dried. The following symbols r efer to drying: Machine drying is usually possible Normal dryi.
25 How to wash Max. load - cottons 5.5 kg - synthetics and delicates 3 kg - wool 2 kg Load the laundry Open the door . Place the laundry in the drum, one item at a time. Distribute laundry as evenly as possible. Close the door . Add deter gent and additive Pull the dr awer out till it stops.
Selection of the desir ed wash pr ogramme T urn the progr amme selector dial to the desir ed position: the lights corr esponding to the different phases making up the selected pr ogramme light up.
27 How to wash EXTRA RINSE This appliance is designed for saving water . However , for people with a very delicate skin (aller gic to detergents) it may be necessary to rinse the laundry using an extr a quantity of water (extra rinse). The extr a rinse is available only with the cotton, synthetics or delicate pr ogramme.
Starting the pr ogr amme 1. Check that the water tap is open. 2. Pr ess START/P AUSE to start the progr amme. If the Delay Start option has been selected the pr ogramme will start at the end of the count- down. If the door light beside the ST ART/PAUSE button i s re d a n d flashing at the start of the pr ogramme it indicates that the door is open.
At the end of the pr ogr amme The machine stops automatically . A zero appear s on the display . An acoustic signal is clearly audible. The END light comes on in the pr o- gr amme progr ess display . If the OVERDOSAGE light comes on it indicates that too much deter- gent has been used.
Automatic washing and drying (NON-ST OP pr ogramme) W arning! For NON-STOP pr ogrammes, it is also essential not to exceed the maximum load sizes of 2.75 kg for cotton and 2 kg for synthetics. Load the laundry . Add deter gent and additive. Do not use a dosing device when carrying out automatic washing and drying pr ogramme.
Pr ogramme chart W ash pr ogrammes In compliance with EC dir ective 92/75, the consumption figures indicated on the ener gy label refer to the 60°C wash pr ogramme for cotton.

34 Cleaning and maintenance After each wash At the end of the wash pr ogramme, pull the dispenser dr awer out a lit- tle to let it dry . Leave the door ajar to allow air to cir culate. If the machine is not used for a pr olonged period: Close the water tap and unplug the appliance.
T o facilitate cleaning, the top part of the additive compartment can be r emoved. Deter gent can also accumulate inside the dr awer recess: clean it with an old tooth- brush. Refit the dr awer after cleaning. Door seal Regularly check to see, if ther e are deposits or for eign objects in the rubber seal behind the door and r emove them.
W ater inlet filter If you notice that the machine is taking longer to fill, check that the filter in the water inlet hose is not blocked. T urn off the water tap. Unscr ew the hose from the tap. Clean the filter with a stiff brush. Scr ew the hose back onto the tap.
37 Something not working? If during the spin cycle the machine makes an unusual whistling noise, differ ent from the noise made by tr adi- tional washing machines, this is due to a new type of motor . If water is not visible in the drum, this is due to the modern technology of new washing machines that use less water than tr aditional machines.

Installation Unpacking All tr ansit bolts and packing must be removed befor e using the appli- ance. Using a spanner , unscrew and r emove the r ear right-hand bolt and lay the machine on its back, taking car e not to squash the hoses. This can be avoided by placing one of the corner packing pieces between the machine and the floor .
P ositioning Install the machine on a flat har d floor . Make sur e that air circulation ar ound the machine is not impeded by carpets, rugs etc. • Befor e placing it on small tiles, apply a rubber coating. • Never try to corr ect any unevenness in the floor by putting pieces of wood, car dboard or similar materials under the machine.
Set the hose corr ectly by loosening the ring nut. After positioning the inlet hose, be sur e to tighten the ring nut again to pr event leaks. Do not connect to a hot water supply .
If you intend the dr ain hose from the machine to empty into a sink, make sur e that the sink is empty and the plug hole is not blocked. Use the plastic “U -Piece” supplied.
53 Electrical connections W ARNING: THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED. The manufactur er declines any liability should this safety measure not be observed. If the plug that is fitted to your appliance is not suitable for your socket outlet, it must be cut off and the appr opriate plug fitted.
