7 Contr ol P anel To use the appliance, always open the dishwasher door first. Button func tions ON / OFF – Activate/deactiva te appliance Direction buttons – Select from menus – Selecting a val.
8 Switching on for the first time – setting the language 1. Press the ON/OFF button. First of all HELLO appear s in the dis- play . As soon as the dishwasher is ready for use, this is replaced by LANGUAGE ENGLISH; the word ENGLISH is flashing. 2. Using the dir ection buttons ( or ) select the desired language.
9 Display The information bar consists of a row of illuminated elements. • In the cycle menu, you can see whic h position you are curr ently at within this menu (the appr opriate light will flash). • During a rinsing cycle, the info rmation bar functi ons as a cycle progr ess display .
10 Basic oper ation This section contains basic informat ion r egar ding the use of your dish- washer . Please read this section very carefully . An overview of the menus 1. not available with all models The Progr ammes menu • After switching on the dishwasher yo u will find you rself in the Pr o- grammes menu.
11 The Options menu • Here go to the desir ed setting using the direction buttons ( or ). • For the option DELA Y ST ART see the section “Setting a delay start” for the option 3 IN 1 see the section “Before using for the fir st time” • Use the OK/START button to switch fr om the menu item SETTINGS… to the Settings sub-menu.
12 Prior to Using for the First Time 1. Set the water softener 2. Pour 1 litre of water into the salt dispenser 3. Fill up with dishwasher salt 4. Fill with Rinse Aid 3 If you wish to use “3in1” detergent, please do the following: – First r ead the section “Using 3in1 detergents” .
13 Setting electronica lly: 1. Press the ON/OFF button. 3 If the name of a stage of a cycle is shown on the display , this means a programme is active. Y ou must firs t of all cancel the programme : – Press the RESET key combination. The display will rea d CONFIRM CANCEL? – Press the OK/ST ART button.
14 Adding special salt To decalcify the water softener , it mu st be filled up with dishwasher salt. Use only special salt suitable for domestic dis hwashers. If you do not use 3in1 detergent, fill up with dishwasher salt: – Before usin g the dishwasher for the firs t time.
15 Filling Up with Rinse Aid Rinse aid causes the rinse water to fl ow easily from the cr ockery leav- ing gleaming dishes and glassware. If you do not use 3in1 detergent, fill up with rinse aid: – Before usin g the dishwasher for the firs t time. – If when starting a dishwashing cy cle the message REFILL RINSE AID is displayed.
16 Setting the Amount of Rinse Aid Requir ed 3 Only change the amount dispensed, if smears, milky spots (reduce the amount) or dried on water spots (inc rease the amount) can be seen on glasses and dishes. (See section “If di shwashing results are not satisfac- tory” .
17 Setting the acoustic signal: In addition to the optical display (e .g. indicating the end of the cycle, error s) you can also choose to set an acoustic signal. 1. Press the ON/OFF button. 3 If the name of a stage of a cycle is shown on the display , this means a programme is active.
18 In daily use Loading cutlery and dishes 1 Sponges, cleaning cloths and any ot her objects that ca n absorb water must not be washed in the dishwash er . Plastic and Teflon-coated dishes and pans tend to r etain water dr oplet s. These dishes an d pans therefor e do not dry as well as those made of china and stainless steel.
19 Loading cutlery 1 War n i n g : Because of the risk of injury s harp knives and other items of cutlery with sharp edges must be laid in the cutl ery ra ck or in the upper basket Place knives, sma ll spoons and small forks in the cutlery tray which is in the upper basket.
20 The cutlery basket can be opened out. Always make sur e that you put your hand around both parts of the two- part handle when r emoving it from the dishwasher . 1. Place the cutlery basket on a table or work surface. 2. Open out the two-part handle.
21 Cups , Glasses , Coffee Service Load smaller , fragile cr ockery and long, sharp cutlery in the upper bas- ket. • Arrange items of cr ockery on and under the folding cup r acks so that they ar e offset fr om each other and water can reach all items.
22 • The row of spikes on the left of the upper basket is also in two parts and can be folded away . Spikes not folded away: place glasses, mugs etc.
23 Adjusting the Height of the Upper Basket 3 The height of the baskets can also be adjusted when they are loaded. Raising/Lowering the Upper Bas- ket 1. Pull out the upper basket complete- ly . 2. Raise the upper bask et as far as it will go and then lower it vert ically .
24 Adding Deter gent De t e rg e nt s re m ov e t h e d i rt f ro m dishes and cutlery . The detergent must be added befor e the cycle starts. 1 Only use deter gent intended for do- mestic dishwashers. The detergent compartment is lo- cated on the inside of the door .
25 Concentr ated deter gents Today’ s deter gents for dishwasher s are al most exclusively low-alkaline concentrated deter gents with natu r al enzymes in tablet or powder form.

27 Starting a dishwashing cycle 1. Check that the spray arms can turn fr eely . 2. Turn the water tap on fully . 3. Press the ON/OFF button. 4. Use the direction buttons ( or ) to select the cycle requir ed. The name of the selected rinsing cycl e will flash.
28 Interrupting the dishwashing progr amme by opening the dishwash- er door 1 Hot steam may escape when the door is opened. There is a risk of scald- ing. 1. Open the door carefully . The dishwashin g cycle will stop, in the display: PLEASE CLOSE DOOR 2.
29 Switching Off the dishwasher When the dishwasher cycle has ended, the dot-shaped light signal be- low the door of the appliance goes out. If the acoustic signal has been enabled, a continuous tone will sound for 15 seconds at the end of the dishwashing cycle.
30 Car e and cleaning 1 Do not use furniture care pr odu cts or aggressive cleaner s. • When necessary , clean the dishwasher ’s contr ols with a soft cloth. • Occasionally check the internal di spenser s, door seal and water inlet filter (if fitted) for dirt and clean them, if necessary .
31 What to do if … Resetting the language Y ou can r eset the display la nguage to the default setting at any time. Besides the language, the CONTRAST 1 and BRIGHTNESS settings will also be reset. 1. Press the key combination RESET repeatedly until the display no longer alters.
32 Malfunct ion Possible cause Remedy 1 short warning tone , continuously repeated, can be heard, in the display: OPEN THE TA P Water tap is blocked with limescale or faulty . Check the water tap and have it repaired if necessary . The tap is turned o ff.
33 If the Dishwashing Results ar e not Satisfactory The dishes are still dirty . • The wrong dishwashing cycle was selected. • The dishes were loaded is such a way that the dishwashing water did not reach all items. The baskets for the dishes must not be overload- ed.
34 The dishes do not dry and are not shining. • P oor quality rinse aid was used. • The rinse aid dispenser is empty . There ar e smears , streaks , milky spots or a shiny bluish coating on glasses and dishes. • Lower rinse aid dosage. There ar e dried water drops on the glasses and dishes.

38 Installation and connection instructions 1 Safety Information for the Installation • Only tr ansport the dishwasher in an upright position, otherwise salt water may run out. • Before using th e dishwasher for the firs t time, check for any damage caused in transport.
39 Installing the Dishwasher • The dishwasher must be installed on a firm floor and adjusted to en- sure that it is stable and level in all dir ections. • To compensate for unevenness in the floor and to match the height of the appliance to that of sur- rounding units, extend the thr ead- ed feet using a screwdriver .
40 Connecting the dishwasher Connecting to the water supply • The dishwasher must only be connected to a cold water suppl y. t • The dishwasher must not be connect ed to open hot water appliances or instantaneous water heater s.
41 W ater drainage Drain hose 1 The drain hose must not be kinked, crushed or entangled. Connecting the dr ain hose: – Maximum permitted height: 1 metre. – Minimum requir ed height: 40 cm above the bottom edge of the ap- pliance. 42 Anti-flood system For protection fr om water damage, the dishwasher is equipped with a anti-flood system. In the event of a fault, the safety valve in the water inlet hose immedi- ately interrupts the supply of wate r to the appliance and the dr ain pump is activated.
43 Electrical Connection Any electrical work required to install this appliance should be car- ried out by a qualified elec trician or competent person. 1 WARNING - This appliance must be earthed. The manufacturer declines any r esp onsibility s hould these safety measures not be observed.
