6 Safety during use • Remove stickers and film fr om the glass ceramic. • There is the risk of burns fr om the appliance if used carelessly . • Cables from electrical appliances must not touch t he hot surface of the appliance or hot cookware. • Overheated fat and oil can ignite qu ickly .

8 Digital displays The four display panels that belong to the four cooking zones indicate: – ¾ after having been switched on, – u when a keep warm setting has been selected, – ¿ to Ç , depend.
9 Oper ating the hob T ouch contr ol sensor panels To oper ate the touch contr ol sensor panels, touch the desir ed panel with the tip of your pointed finger until the relevant displays illuminate or go out, or until the desi red function is carried out.
10 Switching off the appliance To completely switch off the appliance, actuate the “On/Off” sensor panel I . Touch the “On/Off” sensor panel for approx.
11 Switching the triple ring zone on and off According to the size of the saucepan or frying pan, when using the tri - ple ring cooking zone you can switch from a smaller cooking zone to a larger cooking zone using the “triple ring zone” sensor panel.
12 3. Touch the “triple ring” sensor panel to activa te the outer hea ting ring. The upper contr ol lamp will ill uminate. 4. To switch off the out er heating ring , touc h the “triple ring” sensor pan- el, and the heating ring that is outermost at the time will swit ch off.
13 2. Touch the “double ring” sensor panel. This will switch the setting to the outer heating ring. The control light will illuminate. 3. To switch off the outer heating ri ng, touch the “double ring” sensor panel, and the outer heating ring will switch off.
14 Switching off a cooking zone 1. To switch off a cooking zone touch the heat setting selector sensor panel and simultaneously , or r etu rn the setting to zero using the heat setting selector sensor panel .
15 Cooking using the automatic warm up function All of the cooking surface’s four c ooking zones can be adjusted to any of nine settings, and ar e equipped with an automatic warm up func- tion: – ¿ , lowest heat setting – Ç , highest heat setting – a , automatic warm up function.
16 Cooking without the automatic warm up function If you wish to use the cooking zo nes without the aut omatic warm up function, select the desir ed heat sett ing using the heat setting selector sensor panel . 1. Touch the heat setting selector sensor panel in order to set the de- sired heat setting from Ç to ¿ .
17 Child safety lock Y ou can u se the child safety lock to safeguar d against unwant ed use of the cooking surface. Switching on the child safety lock To be able to switch on the child safety lock the appliance must be switched on, but all the cooking zones must be switched off.
18 Overriding the child safety lock The child safety lock c an be overri dden in or der to use the appliance (until the appliance is switched of f again). When the appliance is switched on again the child safety device is activated once again. 1. Switch on the appliance.
19 Switching off the child safety lock 1. Switch on the appliance. When the child safety device has been activated, l will be displayed. 2. Touch the sensor field for appr ox. thr ee seconds. An acoustic signal will sound as conf irmation. 3. Touch any heat setting sensor field .
20 Timer There ar e two ways to use the timer: – as a safety cut-out function . Set a cooking period for a cooking zone, and after this time has elapse d the cooking zone will automati- cally switch itself off. This functi on can be used for more than one cooking zone simultaneously .

22 Switching off the safety cut-out function befor e it has come to an end There ar e two ways to switch off the safet y cut-out function befor e it has come to an end.
23 Uses , tables and tips Pa ns • Y ou can r ecognise good pans by their bases. The base should be as thick and flat as possible. • P ay particular attention when buying new pa ns to the diameter of the base. Manufacturer s often give only the diameter of the upper rim.
24 Advice on cooking with and without automatic warm up The automatic warm up function is suitable for: • dishes that start off cold, ar e heat ed up at high power and do not need to be continually watched wh en cooking on the selected heat setting, • dishes that are put in a hot frying pan.
25 Settings for Cooking on the Zones The figures in the following table ar e benchmark figures. The swi tch setting requir ed for a certain cooking method depends on the quality of the pans and the type and amount of food.

27 What to do if … Rectifying faults It is possible that faults have been ca used by a minor error , which you can corr ect yourself with the help of the follow ing inst ructions. Do not attempt any further repair s if the following instructions do not help in each specific case.
