6 Instruction booklet Safety information Prior to using for the fir st time • The safety of AEG/ELECTROLUX appliances complies with the industry standar ds and with legal requir ements on the safety of appliances . However , as manufactur ers , we feel it is our duty to pr ovide the following safety notes.
7 • Do not use your washing machine to wash articles with whalebones , material without hems or torn material. • Always unplug the appliance and turn off the water supply after use, cleaning and maintenance. • Under no cir cumstances should you attempt to repair the machine your self.
Use • This appliance is designed for domestic use. It must not be used for purposes other than those for which it was designed. • Only wash fabrics which are designed to be machine washed. Follow the instructions on each garment label. • Do not overload the appliance.
9 Pr oduct description Y our new appliance meets all modern r equir ements for effective treatment of laundry with low water , ener gy and detergent consumption. Deter gent dispenser dr awer Compartment for pr ewash phase or stain remover . The pr ewash detergent is added at the beginning of the wash pr ogr amme.

Display (7) Dur ation of selected progr amme : After selecting a pr ogramme, the dur ation is displayed in hour s and minutes (for example 2.05 ). The duration is calculated automatically on the basis of the maximum r ecommended load for each type of fabric.
Indicator pilot lights (1 0) After having pr essed the button 8 , the W ASHING pilot light ( 1 0.1 ) comes on. When the pilot light 1 0.1 comes on this means that the machine is oper ating. The DOOR pilot light ( 1 0.2 ) indicates if the door can be opened: ● light on: the door cannot be opened.
13 Use Fir st Use Ensur e that the electrical and water connections comply with the installation instructions . Remove the polystyr ene block and any material from the drum. Run a cotton cycle at 90° or 95°C, without any laundry in the machine, to r emove any manufacturing r esidue from the drum and tub .
Daily Use Load the laundry 1. Open the door by car efully pulling the door handle outwar ds. Place the laundry in the drum, one item at a time, shaking them out as much as possible.
15 Use Select the r equir ed progr amme by means of progr amme selector dial (1) The machine is now switched on. Y ou can choose the right pr ogr amme for any type of laundry following the descriptions on the washing pr ogramme tables (see «W ashing Pr ogrammes»).
16 Use Pr ogr amme option button Depending on the pr ogramme, differ ent functions can be combined. These must be selected after choosing the desir ed progr amme and befor e depressing the button 8 . When these buttons ar e pressed, the corr esponding pilot lights come on.
Select the TIME option (Button 6) This option allows you to modify the washing time, automatically pr oposed by the washing machine. DAIL Y: by pr essing this button once, the r elative pilot light comes on and the washing dur ation will be reduced to wash daily soiled laundry .
Selecting the delayed start. ● Select the pr ogramme and the r equir ed options. ● Select the delay start. ● Depr ess button 8 : the machine starts its hourly countdown.
Cancelling a pr ogr amme T urn the selector dial to O to cancel a progr amme which is running. Y ou can now select a new pr ogramme. Opening the door after the pr ogr amme has started Fir st set the machine to pause by pressing the button 8 . If the pilot light 1 0.

22 Progr amme information REFRESH This progr amme can be selected with the following options: Spin Speed Reduction and DELA Y ST ART. This progr amme must be used for slightly soiled cotton or synthetics items. ECONOMY This progr amme can be selected for slightly or normally soiled cotton items .
Pr eparing the wash cycle Sorting out the laundry Follow the wash code symbols on each garment label and the manufactur er’s washing instructions . Sort the laundry as follows: whites, colour eds , synthetics, delicates , woollens. T emper atures Befor e loading the laundry Never wash whites and colour eds together .
24 Maximum loads Recommended loads ar e indicated in the washing progr amme charts . Gener al rules: Cotton, linen: drum full but not too tightly packed; Synthetics: drum no mor e than half full ; Delicate fabrics and woollens: drum no more than one thir d full.
Removing stains Stubborn stains may not be r emoved by just water and detergent. It is ther efor e advisable to tr eat them prior to washing. Blood: tr eat fresh stains with cold water . For dried stains , soak overnight in water with a special deter gent then rub in the soap and water .
26 • powder deter gents for delicate fabrics (60°C max) and woollens, • liquid deter gents, pr efer ably for low temperatur e wash pr ogrammes (60°C max) for all types of fabric, or special for woollens only .
Car e and cleaning Y ou must DISCONNECT the appliance fr om the electricity supply , befor e you can carry out any cleaning or maintenance work. Descaling The water we use normally contains lime. It is a good idea to periodically use a water softening powder in the machine.
2. T o aid cleaning, the top part of the additive compartment should be r emoved. 3. Flush it out under a tap, to r emove any tr aces of accumulated powder . 4. Having r emoved the drawer , use a small brush to clean the r ecess, ensuring that all washing powder r esidue is removed fr om the upper and lower part of the r ecess.
29 Dr ain pump The pump should be inspected r egularly and particularly if • the machine does not empty and/or spin • the machine makes an unusual noise during dr aining due to objects such as safety pins , coins etc. blocking the pump. Pr oceed as follows: 1.
30 Care and cleaning r eplacing the cover , ensure it is secur ely r etightened so as to stop leaks and young childr en being able to remove it. W ater inlet filter If you notice that the machine is taking longer to fill, check that the filter in the water inlet hose is not blocked.
Fr ost pr ecautions If the machine is installed in a place wher e the temperatur e could dr op below 0°C, pr oceed as follows: 1. Close the water tap and unscr ew the water inlet hose from the tap. 2. Place the end of the emer gency emptying hose and that of the inlet hose in a bowl placed on the floor and let water dr ain out.

Installation Unpacking All tr ansit bolts and packing must be removed befor e using the appliance. Y ou ar e advised to keep all tr ansit devices so that they can be refitted if the machine ever has to be tr ansported again. 1. After r emoving all the packaging, carefully lay machine on it’ s back to remove the polystyr ene base from the bottom.
4. Unscr ew and remove the two lar ge r ear bolts B and the six smaller bolts C . 5. Remove the br acket D and refit the six smaller bolts C . Slide out the r elevant plastic spacer E.
38 P ositioning and levelling Install the machine on a flat har d floor . Make sur e that air circulation ar ound the machine is not impeded by carpets , rugs etc. Befor e placing it on small tiles, apply a rubber coating. Never try to corr ect any unevenness in the floor by putting pieces of wood, car dboard or similar materials under the machine.
4. Connect the hose to a tap with a 3/4” thr ead. Always use the hose supplied with the appliance. Installation should comply with local water authority and building r egulations requir ements . A minimum water pr essure of 0.05 MP a is requir ed for safe oper ation of the appliance.
40 Installation When dischar ging into a standpipe ensur e that the top of the standpipe is no mor e than 90 cm (35.4'') and no less than 60 cm (23.6'') above floor level. The dr ain hose may be extended to a maximum of 4 metr es. An additional dr ain hose and joining piece is available fr om your local Service Force Centr e.
In the inter est of the envir onment W ashing machines should be connect- ed to the FOUL dr ainage system, the water will then be taken to a sewage works for tr eatment before being dis- char ged safely into a river .
If you fit your own plug, the colour s of the wires in the mains lead of your appli- ance may not corr espond with the markings identifying the terminals in your plug, pr oceed as follows: Connect the gr een and yellow (earth) wire to the terminal in the plug which is marked with the letter «E» or the earth symbol or colour ed green and yellow .
43 Installation Building-in This appliance has been designed to be built into the kitchen furnitur e. The r ecess should have the dimensions shown in pictur e A. When installing the appliance into the kitchen furniture ensur e, if possible, the hoses ar e placed in either of the two recesses on the back of the appliance.

P osition the base into the recess with its front edge as far forwar d as the adjoining plinth line will allow . The reason for placing the base in this position is to allow a small strip of beading to be fitted in front of the appliance feet. Fix the base firmly to the floor using four appropriate countersunk scr ews (see Fig.
