4 T o the Owner Before operating this projector , read this manual thoroughly and operate the projector properly . This projector provides many convenient features and functions. Operating the projector properly enables you to manage those features and maintains it in better condition for a considerable time.
5 Safety Instructions All the safety and operating instructions should be read before the product is operated. Read all of the instructions given here and retain them for later use. Unplug this projector from AC power supply before cleaning. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners.

This projector automatically selects t h e c o r r e c t i n p u t v o l t a g e . I t i s d e s i g n e d t o w o r k w i t h single-phase power systems having a grounded neutral conductor .
18 Basic Operation Connect the projector ’s AC power cord into an AC outlet. The POWER indicator becomes red. Press the POWER ON/ST AND-BY button on the top control or on the remote control. The POWER indicator becomes green and the cooling fans start to ope rate .

20 Basic Operation How to Operate the On-Screen Menu The projector can be adjusted or set via the On-Screen Menu. Refer to the following pages regarding each adjustment and setting procedures. Press the Point ◄► buttons to select a Menu icon to adjust and press the Point ▲ ▼ buttons to select an item to adjust.

22 Basic Operation Open the slide shutter . Rotate the Zoom Ring to zoom in and out. Rotate the Focus Ring to adjust the projected picture focus. Close the slide shutter .
23 1 2 + _ Basic Operation Press the VOLUME+/– buttons on the top control or on the remote control to adjust the volume. The volume dialog box appears on the screen for a few seconds. Press the MUTE button on the remote control to cut off the sound.

27 Computer Input Computer System Selection This projector automatically tunes to various types of computers based on VGA, SVGA, XGA, SXGA, WXGA, or UXGA with its Multi-scan system and Auto PC Adjustment.
28 Computer Input Auto PC Adjustment function is provided to automatically adjust Fine sync, T otal dots, Horizontal, and V ertical to conform to your computer .

34 Computer Input Store Exit the Image Adjust Menu. Quit T o store the adjusted data, select Store and press the SELECT button. Select a level from Image 1 to 4 with the Point ▲▼ buttons and press the SELECT button. A confirmation box appears and then select [Y es].
35 Custom Adjust the screen scale and position manually with this function. Press the SELECT button at Custom and the "Custom" is displayed on the screen for a few seconds and then the Aspect dialog box appears. Scale H/V .................. Adjust the Horizontal/V ertical screen scale.
36 Computer Input When the Digital zoom + is selected, the On-Screen Menu dis appea rs and th e messa ge "D. zo om +" is di splay ed. Press the SELECT button to expand the image size. And press the Point ▲▼◄► buttons to pan the image.
37 Computer Input V ideo Input Choose V ideo by pressing the INPUT button on the top control or choose Video by pressing the VIDEO button or choose S-video by pressing the S-video button on the remote control. Before using these buttons, correct input source should be selected through menu operation as described below .

43 Video Input Video Input T o reset the adjusted data, select Reset and press the SELECT button. The confirmation box appears and then select [Y es]. All adjustments returns to their previous figures. Reset Press the Point ◄ ► buttons to obtain better balance of contrast.
44 Video Input This projector has the picture screen resize function, which enables you to customize the image size. P r e s s t h e M E N U b u t t o n t o d i s p l a y t h e O n - S c r e e n Menu. Press the Point ◄► buttons to move the red frame pointer to the Screen Menu icon.
45 Setting Press the MENU button to display the On-Screen Menu. Press the Point ◄► buttons to move the red frame pointer to the Setting Menu icon. Language The language used in the On-Screen Menu .
46 Auto setup This function enables Input search, Auto Keystone correction and Auto PC adjustment by pressing the AUTO SETUP button on the top control or the AUT O SET button on the remote control. Settings for those functions can be altered as follows: Input search This function detects the input signal automatically .
47 Blue back Press the Point ◄► buttons to switch On/Off. When this function is "On", a blue image is displayed while the input signal is not detected. Keystone T h is f u n c t io n c o r r e ct s d i s t or t i o n o f a pr o j e c te d i m a g e .
48 Setting Logo select This function decides the start-up display as follows: User . . . . the image you captured Default . . the factory-set logo Of f . . . . . countdown only Logo (Logo and Logo PIN code lock settings) This function allows you to customize the screen logo with Logo select, Capture, and Logo PIN code lock functions.
49 Setting Setting This function prevents an unauthorized person from changing the screen logo. Off . . . . . . the screen logo can be changed freely from the Logo select menu. (p.48) On . . . . . . the screen logo cannot be changed without the Logo PIN code.
50 Setting Ceiling When this function is "On", the picture is top/bottom and left/right reversed. This function is used to project the image from a ceiling mounting the projector . Rear When this function is "On", the picture is left/right reversed.
51 Setting On start When this function is "On", the projector is automatically turned on just by connecting the AC power cord to a wall outlet. Note: Be sure to turn the projector off properly (see "Turning Off the Projector" on page 19).
52 Setting Remote control This projector provides two different remote control codes: the factory-set initial code (Code 1) and the secondary code (Code 2). This switching function prevents remote control interference when operating several projectors or video equipment at the same time.
53 Setting Key lock Security (Key lock and PIN code lock settings) This function allows you to use Key lock and PIN code lock function to set the security for the projector operation. This function locks operation of the top control or the remote control.
54 Setting T o Enter the PIN code Select a number by pressing the Point ▲▼ buttons. And then press the Point ► button to fix the number and move the pointer .
55 Setting Setting This function provides the following alternatives in the cooling fans' operation after turning off the projector . (p.19) L1 . . . . . . normal operation L2 ...... s l o w e r a n d l o w e r - s o u n d t h a n t h e n o r m a l operation (L1), but it takes longer to cool the projector down.
56 Factory default This function returns all setting values except for the user log o, PIN c ode lo ck, Lo go PIN c ode lo ck, an d the lam p counter to the factory default settings. Exit the Setting Menu. Quit Factory default Setting Maintenance and Care Select Factory default and this box appears.
57 Maintenance and Care Filter Instructions Filter prevents dust from accumulating on the optical elements inside the projector . Should the filter becomes clogged with dust particles, it will reduce cooling fans’ effectiveness and may result in internal heat buildup and adversely affect the life of the projector .
58 T urn off the projector , and unplug the AC power cord from the AC outlet. First, clean up the dust on the projector and around the air vents. Loosen 2 screws of the filter cover with a screwdriver and open the filter cover . Put the new one back into the position and rotate back the ha ndle.
59 Maintenance and Care Be sure to reset the Scroll counter after replacing the filter cartridge. Press the MENU button to display the On-Screen Menu. Use the Point ◄► buttons to move the red frame pointer to the Setting Menu icon. Use the Point ▲▼ buttons to move the red frame pointer to Filter counter and then press the SELECT button.

61 Follow these steps to replace the lamp. Turn off t he pr oje ct or an d dis con nec t the A C pow er cord. Allow the projector to cool for at least 45 minutes. Loosen 2 screws of the lamp with a screwdriver and pull out the lamp upwards vertically by grasping the handle.
62 Maintenance and Care Be sure to reset the Lamp replacement counter after the lamp is replaced. When the Lamp replacement counter is reset, the LAMP REPLACE indicator stops lighting. T urn the projector on, press the MENU button to di s pl ay t h e On -S c re en M en u .
63 Maintenance and Care The WARNING TEMP . indicator shows the state of the function which protects the projector. Check the state of the W ARNING TEMP . indicator and the POWER indicator to take proper maintenance. W ARNING TEMP . indicator The projector is shut down and the W ARNING TEMP .
64 Maintenance and Care Cleaning the Projector Cabinet Softly wipe the projector body with a soft, dry cleaning cloth. When it is heavily soiled, use a small amount of mild detergent and finish with a soft, dry cleaning cloth. Avoid using an excessive amount of cleaner .
65 Maintenance and Care Appendix T roubleshooting Before calling your dealer or service center for assistance, check the items below once again. – Make sure you have properly connected the projector to peripheral equipment as described on pages14-16.
