Chapter 1 Introduction 1. Intr oduction Congratulations on your purchase of this Fast/Gigabit Ethernet Management Switch. This high performance m anagement switch provides Ethernet ports to segment network traf fics, extend Ethernet connection distan ce, and convert data packets between dif ferent transmission speeds.
In addition, all the ports support the MDI/MDI-X auto-detect function. That is to say , you can connect any device (including PC, Switch, Hub) to a port of this switch using a regular cable. The RJ-45 port will auto-detect and auto-switch to the correct MDI/MDI-X mode (do not need to use a specific uplink port or cross-over cable).
2. Featur es & Specifications Features Complies with the IEEE802.3 Ethernet, IEEE802.3u Fast Ethernet (IEEE802.3z, IEEE802.3ab for Gigabit switch) Provides Store-and-Forward architecture.

0: disable rate control 1 ~ 1000: valid rate value. 7.Port Security: A port in security mode will be “locked” without permission of addres s learning. Only the incoming packets with SMAC already existin g in the address table can be forwarded normally .
4.5 Trunking The Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP) provides a standardized means for exchanging information between Partner Systems on a link to allow their Link Aggregation Control instance.
disable, the group is local static trunking group. All ports support LACP dynamic trunking group. If connecting to the device that also supports LACP , the LACP dynamic trunking group will be created automatically . 3. W ork ports: Allow max four ports can be aggregated at the same time.
4.5.3 S tate Activity Active (selected) : The port autom atically sends LACP protocol packets. Passive (not selected) : The port does not au tomatically sends LACP protocol packets, and res ponds only if it receives LACP protocol packets from the opposite device.
4.6 Filter Database 4.6.1 IGMP Snooping This switch supports IP multicast, you can enable IGMP protocol on web management’ s sw itch settings advanced page, then display the IGMP snooping information in this page, you can view dif ference multicast gr oup ,VID and m ember port here, IP multicast addresses range from 224.
