Names of controls and part s 19 III Switching Rot ary Modes The [VOL] button can be switched to other functions. When the rotary mode is set to ON , you can switch from the volume adjustment function to the following functions b y pressing the [VOL] button.

By removing this panel when you leave the vehicle, you can prevent the theft of the main unit. 22 Operation How to operate the CD/MP3/WMA player Operation About comp act discs • The signal recorded o n a compact disc is read by a laser beam, so nothing touches the d isc surface. A scratch on the recorded surface or a badly wa rped disc may cause deteriorated sound quality or intermittent playbac k.

24 Operation About MP3/WMA ATTENTION The making of MP3/WMA files by recording from sources such as broadcasts, records, recordings, videos and live performances without permission from the copyright holder for uses other than personal enjoyment is prohibited.
How to operate the CD/MP3/WMA p layer 25 IV ID3/WMA tag MP3/WMA files have an “ID3 / WMA T ag” that allows input of information so tha t data such as song title and artist can be saved. This main unit supports ID3v . 1.0, 1.1 and WMA tags. Media Media capable of playing MP3/WMA includes CD-R and CD-RW discs.
26 Operation File names Only files with the MP3/WMA file extension “. mp3”, “.wma” can be r ecognized as MP3/WMA and played. Be sure to save MP3 files with the “.mp3” file extension. Be sure t o WMA files with the “.wma” file extension.

36 Operation The Bluetooth audio function Operation About the Bluetooth audio function The use of Bluetooth wireless communicatio n technology enables a Bl uetooth-compatible portable audio player (hereafter called "a portable device" ) to be used as a source for th e main unit.
The Bluetooth aud io function 37 VI What is Bluetooth? Bluetooth is a form of short-range wireless communication technology , used to connect cell phones and personal computers. This technology enables hands-free calling and data transmission between Bluetooth-compatible devices.

50 Operation ATTENTION A maximum of 28 digits can be input per phone number . If you input an incorrect number , move the cursor to that number , and input the correct number by following S tep 3. The input number confirmation screen appears on the display .

The Bluetooth han ds-free function 53 IX Registering a cell phone Cell phones can be registered in the main unit. There are two methods that can be used to register a cell phone in the main unit. The cell phone itself can be used or search for cell phones using the main unit.

ATTENTION Each time the [SCREEN/TEXT] button is pressed, the display ch anges in the following way , and you can register the cell phone using the device address (BD ADD) as well.

56 Operation ATTENTION • If th ere is no space remaining in the main unit for phonebook data, the "MEMORY FULL" message appears on the display when an attempt is made to transfe r data from the cell phone. • Some cell phones cannot transfer all of th e phonebook data at once.

ATTENTION If a CD other than the Key CD is inserted, the registration cannot be cancelled. In this case, the “ERR” message is displayed for tw o seconds, and the CD playback mode is activated.
