3 A b o u t Y ou r N e w La be lm ak e r W ith your new D YMO L etra T ag® labelmaker , you can creat e a wide variety of high-qualit y , self-adhesive labels. Y ou can choose to print your labels in many diff erent fon t sizes and styles. The labelmaker uses DY MO Letra T ag (L T ) 12 mm label cassettes.
4 Inserting the Batteries The labelmak er uses four high-capacit y AA alkaline batteries. T o inser t the batteries 1. Remove the ba ttery compar tment cov er . See Figure 2. 2. Insert the batteries following the polarity markings (+ and –). 3. Replace the cov er .
5 Ç Make sur e the labelmaker pow er is turned off before you disconnect the power adapter fr om the main power source . Other wise, your most r ecent memory settings will be lost. Inserting the L abel Cassette Y our labelmaker comes with one label cassette.
6 Selec ting a Language The first time y ou turn on the power , you are ask ed to selec t your desired language. B y default, the language is set to English. The language option you choose determines the char acter set that is available . T o selec t a language 1.

9 CAPS Mode The [ k ey toggles capitalization on or o . When CAPS mode is turned on, the CAPS mode indicator is shown on the displa y and all letters that y ou enter will be capitalized. The default setting is CAPS mode on. When CAPS mode is o, all letters appear in lo wer case.
10 Cancel The ú k ey allows you t o exit from a menu without making a selection or to cancel an action. F ormat The ô k ey displays the Size, Style, and Borders submenus . T hese formatting featur es are described later in this User Guide . Insert The ò k ey allows you t o inser t symbols, a second line , or the date on y our label.
11 T o set the font size 1. Press the ô k ey. 2. Use the up or down arr ow keys to select Size and press ã . 3. Use the up or down arr ow keys to select the desired font siz e and then press ã .
12 Creating T wo-Line Labels Y ou c an print a maximum of two lines on labels. T o create a two-line label 1. T ype the text for the first line and press ò . 2. Use the arro w keys to select Second Line and press ã . A multi- line symbol is inserted at the end of the first line, but will not print on the label.

15 T o inser t a symbol 1. Press ò , select Symbols , and press ã . The first row of symbols shown in the table appears in the display . 2. Use the arro w keys to move t o the desired symbol. The left and right arro ws move horiz ontally along a row of symbols.
16 P r i n ti n g O pt io ns Y ou c an preview y our label and adjust the printing contrast . Previewing Y our Label Y ou c an preview the te x t or format of your label prior to prin ting. A two-line label is previewed as a single-line label with a line break character between the two lines.

18 Caring for Y our Labelmaker Y our labelmaker is designed to give y ou long and trouble-free ser vice, while r equiring ver y little maintenance. Clean y our labelmaker fr om time to time to k eep it working properly . Clean the cutter blade each time you r eplace the label cassette.
19 T o clean the print head 1. Remove the label cassette . 2. Remove the cleaning t ool from inside the label compartment cov er . 3. Gently wipe the padded side of the tool across the prin t head.
20 T ro ub l e sh o o ti n g Review the following possible solutions if you enc ounter a pr oblem while using your labelmak er .
