10 2 Getting started Read this section to learn h ow to start using the video camera. This section covers b asic f unction s such as switchi ng on, i nserting the battery and memory card, and configuring preliminary settin gs. See later chapt ers for advanced fun ctions.
11 3. Close the battery cover. 2.2 Inserting the battery This video camera is desig ned to use a rechargeable Li-ion battery. Only use the battery supplied or similar bat teries recommended by the manufacturer or your dealer. 1. Push the lock to open the battery cover as shown in the illustration.

13 2.3 Charging the battery You can charge the batt ery with the charging unit provided. Follow the below steps to charge your battery. 1. Connect one end of the power cord to the chargin g unit and then plug the other end to the wall outlet. 2. Insert the Li-io n b atter y into the c hargi ng bay.
14 2.5 Connecting to TV us ing a USB/AV Cable To view pictures or videos on a TV, connec t the video camer a to a TV using the sup plied USB/AV c able as shown. 2.6 Connecting to TV using an HDMI Cable You can also connect the video camera to a TV usi ng the HDMI cable.
