T OOLS OF THE TRADE Listed below are tools y ou ma y wish to hav e on hand bef ore star ting your installation. Ha ving the proper tools will make the installation much easier . Some of these tools are necessities , some will just make the job easier .
REAR DECK MOUNTING In rear deck installations , check the oper ation of the tr unk suspension springs or tension bars. These tension bars can mov e when opening and closing the trunk and can ex er t a great deal of f orce against anything that obstructs their mov ement, such as a speaker bask et or motor assembly .
Step 6 : Using the plastic grille ring as a template, mark the mounting holes with a pen. Step 7 : Pre-drill mounting holes using a 1/8" dr ill bit. W ARNING: Window mec hanisms and electrical wires and other expensive car parts have a nasty habit of hiding where y ou least expect.
5 NO TE: T o remove the trim ring fr om the tweeter housing: 1. Rotate the trim ring a few degrees in a c lockwise direction until y ou feel a detent. 2.
FLUSH MOUNTING INT O REMO VED P ANELS Step 1 : Deter mine the tweeter mounting location, then route the wires from the crossov er to the tweeter location. Step 2 : Mar k the center point of the tweeter location. Step 3 : If using a hole saw , first dr ill a pilot hole , then cut out the hole using a standard 2-1/8" hole saw .

Step 8 : Screw the bolts in until the tweeter housing is firmly mounted to the panel. (Make sure the arro w at the rear of the tweeter housing is pointing in the desired direction.
