Y our remote control is pow ered by a small, lightweight 3 volt lithium battery (CR2032) that will last approximately one year under normal use. When the battery weakens, operating range will be reduced and the LED on the remote will dim.

(S ilent Mode wor ks by pressing this button for less than one second before arming or disarming. An optional auxiliary function, such as tr unk release, can be controlled by pr essing this button for 1.

13 © 2005 directed electronics, inc. While the system is armed, the status LED will flash approxi- mately once per second, indicating that the system is actively protecting your vehicle. I f you hear a second chirp after arming, and see the status LED flashing in groups, refer to the Diagnostics section of this guide.
14 © 2005 directed electronics, inc. When armed, your vehic le is protected as f ollows: ➤ Light impacts will trigger the W arn A way ® signal. When triggered, the siren will chirp and the par king lights will flash for a few seconds. ➤ Heavy impacts will trigger the system.
15 © 2005 directed electronics, inc. ➤ P ress one time: The parking lights flash once. The system is armed. ➤ P ress a second time within five seconds: The parking lights flash twice. Zone 2 is no w bypassed. ➤ P ress a thir d time within five seconds: The parking lights flash three times.
16 © 2005 directed electronics, inc. disarming T o disarm the system, press . Y ou will hear two chirps, and the parking lights will flash twice. If the po wer locks are connected to the system, the doors will unlock. If the siren chirps either four or five times when disarming, refer to the Diagnostics section of this guide.
17 © 2005 directed electronics, inc. disarming without a transmitter This feature allo ws you to disarm the security system without the remote transmitter should it be lost, damaged, or disabled. I n order to disarm the system without a remote transmitter , you must have the vehicle ’ s ignition key and know wher e the V alet button is located.
18 © 2005 directed electronics, inc. dome light control security only The dome light activates for 30-seconds after the system is disarmed. Ignition controlled The dome light activates for 30-seconds after the ignition is turned On. door controlled The dome light activates for 30-seconds after the system sees a door has closed.
19 © 2005 directed electronics, inc. panic mode If you ar e threatened in or near your vehicle, you can attract attention by triggering the system with your transmitter . J ust press or for two seconds, and you will enter P anic M ode. The siren will sound and the par king lights will flash for the programmed siren duration.
20 © 2005 directed electronics, inc. T o enter or exit V alet Mode using the transmitter: 1. Open any vehicle door . 2. P ress . 3. P ress . 4. P ress again. The status LED will light solidly if you are entering V alet M ode, and it will go out if you are exiting V alet M ode.

I t detects any faulty switches and sensors and prevents them fr om disabling the entire system.
24 © 2005 directed electronics, inc. disarming diagnostics Extra disarm chirps are the T amper Alert. If four chirps are hear d when disarming, the system was triggered in your absence. I f five chirps are hear d, a zone was triggered so many times that N uisance P revention ® Circuitry has bypassed that zone.
25 © 2005 directed electronics, inc. table of zones The zone number is the number of LED flashes used by the system to identify that input. The standard input assignments are listed belo w , along with spaces to write in any optional sensors or switches you have had installed.
26 © 2005 directed electronics, inc. Example If Zone 3 was activ e or triggered, the LED will blink three times with a two-second pause. Then it will blink three times again, and repeat until the ignition is turned on.

This provides a cleaner spectrum with less interference and a more stable signal. Enjoy a phenomenal incr ease in range – even in areas with high radio interference.

AED is disabled when the system is in V alet Mode. ➤ F ull trigger response 3 3 0 0 or 60 seconds: This determines how long the full triggered sequence lasts.
32 © 2005 directed electronics, inc. ➤ V alet pulse count: The number of presses of the V alet button required to disarm the security system, AED, or the VRS ® system can be pr ogrammed from one to five pr esses. The default setting is o o n n e e press.

34 © 2005 directed electronics, inc. arming the vrs ® T o arm the VRS ® , turn the ignition to the ON position and press the arm button on the remote transmitter for one second. The parking lights will flash and the siren will chirp once. This can be done before driving or while driving the vehicle.
35 © 2005 directed electronics, inc. Fifteen seconds after the siren chirps begin, the siren ’ s output will change to a continuous blast. F rom this point on, when the ignition key is turned off , the VRS ® will immediately turn on the starter kill.
36 © 2005 directed electronics, inc. If the system has entered the trigger ed sequence (siren has begun chirping), pressing the disarm button of the transmitter will not disarm VRS ® . T o disarm the VRS ® during a VRS ® trigger sequence: 1. T urn the ignition on.
37 © 2005 directed electronics, inc. Forced P assive Arming : If passive arming is on and a door is left open the system will be armed after 30-seconds. High Security Disarm: If the system is trigger ed this feature allows the user to silence the siren and reset the system to the armed state without having to visually check the system status.

39 © 2005 directed electronics, inc. 2. Decr ease Sensitivity—P ress and r elease the button to decrease shock sensor sensitivity by one step . The siren will chirp 1-time for each step decreased in adjustment. When the shock sensor adjustment reaches minimum sensitivity (sensor is Off ) the siren will emit 1 short and then 1 long chirp.
40 © 2005 directed electronics, inc. reset shock sensor to default setting The shock sensor can be restored to a default setting of 10 to facilitate re-adjustment at any time while in adjustment mode. 1. Simultaneously press the and buttons. 2. The system will emit 3 chirps to indicate the sensor has been reset to level 10.

(An additional relay may be requir ed.) If the factory release is not power activ ated, then Directed's 522T trunk release solenoid can often be added.

44 © 2005 directed electronics, inc. T rigger or T riggered Sequence: This is what happens when the alarm "goes off " or "trips". The triggered response of your system consists of the siren sounding and parking light flashing for the programmed duration.
