3 Slide open the ba ttery compartmen t and inser t the batteries as illustrated. Push down on the battery door with both thumbs (1) and slide the doo r inward while pushing down (2 ) 1 2 Caution: Only use si ze AAA alkaline batteries. Batteries may leak or explod e if handled improperly.
4 You can use SD t o increase t he amount of st orage c apacity of you r epsilon 2.1 ca mera. The card can vary in capacity from16MB upwards, a 16 MB card can hold up to 102 im ages. To insert the SD (Secu re Digital) card i nto the cam era open the battery d oor on the bottom of the camera.
5 1. Switch the epsilon 2.1 on by hol ding dow n the Power On/Off switch f or a secon d. 2. Turn the mode selecti on switch so that the is lined up with r e d spot next to the po wer On/Off butt on. 3. Press the (Mode) button on the camera and then the 4 way co ntroller right unti l the “setting ” mode i s displayed.
6 Settings Date and time : Set the date and time by moving the 4 way controller left/right for the day/month/year/hou r/minute, Move up/down to change and press Set to confirm. Date style: Choose the type of date/time style you prefer moving up and do wn with the 4 wa y cont roller and then press Se t to conf irm.
7 LCD Display White balance Exposure Image size: Large/Medium/Small Image Quality: Normal/Fine Burst shoot mode Flash: On/ Off/Aut o Number of pictures remaining. Zoom Battery status Burst shoot mod e: To enable/disa ble this si mply press the 4 way con troller right to switch On/Of f in picture taking mode.
8 Switch on your epsilon came ra by holding down the power button for a second. Turn the Mode selecti on switch t o the Automatic or Manual se tting for pictur e taking. You can either us e the viewf inder or display scre en to f ocus on the pict ure you w ant to take.
9 Recording video & Audio clips To record video c lips with your e psilon 2.1 digital came ra turn the mode selectio n button to the video position. To start recording video with sound pr ess the shutter bu tton. To stop the rec ording simply p ress the shutter button again.
10 Viewing images, Video & Audio To view your images, Video or Audio on the camera display sc reen turn the mode selection switch to the Play mode. To move between the images pres s the 4 way controller right to move forwar d through the images or left to move back ward through t he images.
11 Television playba ck TV To view your images on you r TV pl ug in the suppl ied TV lea d into the AV So cket of your television and the other end into th e TV Out on the camera. Switch t he camera on and turn the mo de selection switch to playback mode.
12 Software installation Before plugging i n your camera to your co m puter insert the CD that ca me with your ep silon 2.1 into y our CD /DVD driv e of your co mpu ter. After a few seconds th e installati on scr een will appear. Select the language of y our choice and the follo wing screen will then appear.
13 Downloading Your images To download yo ur images from y our camera turn the mode selection dial to the pl ayback posit ion. Con nect the large end of the USB lead to your computer and the sm aller end of the USB lead to the camera. There is no need to switch the camera on as it will automatical ly turn on when connected to the USB lead.
14 You will now ha ve a windo w that appears with your images , videos and aud io clips in side. Double click this and you will be able to view the pictu re taken Double click this type of file and you will be able to view your movie.
15 Option2 To open your images and edit the m double click o n the MGI PhotoSuite® 4 icon o n your desktop. 1 Click on this icon. 2 Click on the “comput er” button 3 Click the drop down arrow Select the “remo vable Drive” from the list 4 Double mouse click on the “DCI M” folder.
16 5 Double click on the “101V2210” folder . 6 Click on a file to preview it and then click the “open” button This is the Preview area 7 Once you have o pened an i mage a nd finished editing or pri nting it you can save it to your comput er.
17 Downloading Your images Windows® XP If you have Windows ® XP you can do wnload your im ages as pre viously described , however you can also use the Camera wizard built in t o Windows® XP. Plug in your epsi lon 2.1 to the US B port an d the follow ing auto d ownload will ap pear.
18 Web camera function To use your epsilon 2.1 as a web camera on your co mputer you will ne ed to turn the mode select ion dial to the PC Cam mode. You can use any web camera software that is availa ble on the internet or use t he standa rd Microsoft ® NetMeeting® con ferencing softwa re supplied on the epsilon CD Rom.
