Like any other electrically powered device, If it is not used pr operly it may cause electric shock.
6- ENG D26368 HOW TO PREVENT IT WHA T CAN HAPPEN WARNING: RISK OF BURNS T ouching exposed metal such as the compressor head or outlet tubes, can result in serious burns. Never touch any exposed metal parts on compressor during or immediately after operation.

8- ENG D26368 GLOSSAR Y Become familiar with these terms before operating the unit. CFM : Cubic feet per minute. SCFM: Standard cubic feet per minute; a unit of measur e of air delivery . PSIG: Pounds per square inch gauge; a unit of measur e of pressur e.
9- ENG D26368 ASSEMBL Y Assembly for “Pancake” units T ools Requir ed for Assembly 1 - 3/8” socket or nut driver 1. Carefully place unit on side opposite of controls. 2. Using a 3/8 inch socket or nut driver remove the scr ews attaching the unit to the shipping pallet.
10- ENG D26368 Rubber Feet Screw Nut Wheel Shoulder Bolt Assembly for “V ertical” units T ools Requir ed for Assembly 1 - 9/16” socket or open end wrench 1 - 1/2” socket or open end wrench 1. Remove all packaging leaving the air compressor on the pallet.
Assembly for “Horizontal” units T ools Requir ed for Assembly 1 - 9/16” socket or open end wrench 1 - 3/8” socket or open end wrench 1 - 1/2” socket or open end wrench 1. (if equipped) T o make installation easier , submer ge handle grip into warm soapy water .
12- ENG D26368 INST ALLA TION GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS RISK OF ELECTRICAL SHOCK. In the event of a short circuit, gr ounding reduces the risk of shock by pr oviding an escape wire for the electric curr ent. This air compressor must be properly gr ounded.
13- ENG D26368 Extension Cords Using extension cords is not r ecommended. The use of extension cords will cause voltage to drop r esulting in power loss to the motor and overheating. Instead of using an extension cord, incr ease the working reach of the air hose by attaching another length of hose to its end.
14- ENG D26368 OPERA TION Description of Operation Become familiar with these controls befor e operating the unit. On/Auto/Off Switch : T urn this switch ON to provide automatic power to the pr essure switch and OFF to remove power at the end of each use.
15- ENG D26368 Drain V alve: The drain valve is located at the base of the air tank and is used to drain condensation at the end of each use. Cooling System (not shown) : This compressor contains an advanced design cooling system. At the heart of this cooling system is an engineered fan.
16- ENG D26368 How to Start: 1. T urn the On/Auto/Off lever to “ AUTO ” and allow tank pressur e to build. Motor will stop when tank pressur e reaches “ cut-out ” pr essure. 2. Pull the regulator knob out and turn clockwise to increase pr essure.

18- ENG D26368 SERVICE AND ADJUSTMENTS Unit cycles automatically when power is on. When doing Maintenance, you may be exposed to voltage sources, compressed air or moving parts. Personal injuries can occur . Befor e performing any Maintenance or repair , unplug the compr essor and bleed off all air pressur e.
7. Unscrew the check valve (turn counterclockwise) using a 7/8 ” open end wr ench. Note the orientation for reassembly . 8. Using a screwdriver , car efully push the valve disc up and down.
20- ENG D26368 STORAGE Before you stor e the air compressor , make sur e you do the following: 1. Review the "Maintenance" section on the preceding pages and perform scheduled maintenance as necessary . 2. Set the On/Auto/Off lever to “ OFF ” .
21- ENG D26368 TROUBLESHOOTING Performing repairs may expose voltage sour ces, moving parts or compressed air sour ces, moving parts or compressed air sour ces. Personal injury may occur . Prior to attempting any repairs, unplug the air compr essor and bleed off all air tank air pressur e.
22- ENG D26368 PROBLEM CAUSE CORRECTION It is normal for “ some ” pressur e drop to occur . If there is an excessive amount of pressur e drop when the accessory is used, adjust the regulator following the instructions in the “ Description of Operation ” paragraph in the “ Operation Section.
23- ENG D26368 Regulator will not shut off air outlet. Damaged regulator Replace PROBLEM CAUSE CORRECTION Motor will not run. Fuse blown, circuit br eaker tripped.
