7 INTRODUC TION Thank you for choosing the ECAM 26.455 automa tic coee and cappuccino maker . W e hope you enjoy using your new appliance. T ake a few minutes t o read these instructions. 9 Connecting the appliance Important! Check that the mains power supply voltage c orresponds to the value indicated on the rating plat e on the bottom of the appliance. Connect the appliance to an ear thed and correctly installed socket with a minimum curren t rating of 10A only .
10 Rinsing Use this function to deliver hot w ater fr om the spout to heat the in ternal circuit and make the c oee delivered hotter . T o enable the func tion, proceed as follows: 1. Pr ess the MENU/ESC button to ent er the menu; 2. Pr ess the MILK or C APPUCCINO button (g.
11 “Enable?” if the function has been disabled);o 4. Pr ess the button to disable (or enable) ener gy saving mode; 5. Then pr ess the MENU/ESC button to exit the menu. When the function is enabled, if the machine is not used for about 1 minute, “Energy Saving ” is displayed.
12 MAKING C OFFEE Selec ting the coee taste The appliance is set by default to make coee with a standard taste. Y ou can also choose one of these tastes: Extra-mild taste Mild taste Standard taste Strong taste Extra-strong taste T o change the taste, press the button (g.
13 coee buttons ( or ). • At the end of delive ry , to incr ease the quanti t y of coee in the cup , just pres s (withi n 3 seconds ) one of the coee buttons ( or ). Once the coee has been made, the appliance is ready to use again.
14 Making drinks with milk automatically The CAFFELA T TE, CAPPUCCINO , MACCHIA T O and MILK buttons on the contr ol panel enable these drinks to be prepared automatically . Proceed as f ollows: 1. Fill the milk con tainer and attach it as described above.
15 T o modify these quantities, proceed as follows: 1. P osition a container under the spout. 2. Pr ess the button again until “Hot wa ter Program quantity” is displayed, then r elease the button. 3. When the hot wa ter in the cup reaches the requir ed level , press the button again.
16 T o remove the drip tray: 1. Remov e the drip tray and the gr ounds container (g . 26); 2. Empty the drip tray and grounds container and wash them; 3. Check the red c ondensate tray and empty if necessary. 4. Replace the drip tra y and grounds container .
17 2. Remov e the milk spout and intake tube . 3. T urn the froth adjustment dial to the “INSERT” position (see gure) and pull it o upwar ds. 4. W ash all the components thoroughly with hot water and mild washing-up liquid. All components are dishwasher safe, placing them in the top basket of the dishwasher .
18 5. Pr ess the button to conrm the setting. 6. Pr ess the MENU/ESC button to exit the menu . The machine is now repr ogrammed with the new water hardness setting WA TER FIL TER Certain models are tted with a w ater softener lter .
