K ettle 4 Switching on • Plug the pow er base into the mains socket. • Place k ettle on power base. •P r ess the ON/OFF switch do wn (fig. 6) to switch the k ettle on. • The pilot lights will switch on. • The k ettle will automatically switch off once the water is boiled (the ON/OFF switch will click upwards and the lights will g o out).
K ettle Care and maintenance Cleaning the k ettle • Allow the k ettle to cool down fully and disconnect the appli- ance from the mains bef ore cleaning. • Do not immerse the k ettle or base in water . • Use a soft dampened cloth to wipe the outside of the k ettle and dr y with a soft, dry cloth.
K ettle 6 Descaling the k ettle It is vital to clean and descale regularl y in order to maintain g ood w orking order • Use a proprietary descaling product e.g. citric acid cr ystals. We r ecommend using citric acid cr ystals as follows: • Pour into k ettle about 50 gr .
