9 If the machine is supplied with a strength selector , position the lev er according to the fla vour of coffee desir ed, “light”, “medi- um” or “str ong” (fig.8). 10 Press the ON/OFF s witch (fig. 9). The switch will light up. 11 The coffee will start to flow after appr oximatel y three minutes.
Making Cappuccino A cappuccino is an espr esso coffee with a fr oth topping made by heating milk. • Fill a heat resistant container/jug with a ppro ximately 3 fl.oz. of cold milk for each cappuccino or r efer to the table (page 10). The milk should be cold from the r efrigerator and semi- skimmed as this gives the best r esults.
3F r oth the milk until the steam in the boiler has been completel y used then turn the steam knob clockwise to close the steam valve and set the ON/OFF switch to “OFF”. F ollow steps 6-7 to finish your cappuccino . Cleaning the milk frother IMPOR T ANT: alwa ys clean the milk frother and steam nozzle immediately after use.
Cleaning the filter holder About ev ery 300 coffees, clean the filter holder for gr ound coffee as follows: • Remov e the filter • Clean the inside of the filter holder . Never wash in a dishwash- er . • Rinse all components and clean the metal filter thoroughl y in hot water using a brush (fig.
