Allow time for the memory modules to cool before handling them. Handle the memory modules by the card edges and avoid touching the components on the memory module.

Repeat step 6 through step 10 of this procedur e, checking to ensure that the memory modules ar e firmly seated in their sockets.
Installing Sy stem Components 79 CAUTION: Never remove the heat sink from a processor unless you intend to remove the processor . The heat sink is necessary to maintain proper thermal conditions. 6 Using a #2 Phillips screwdriver , loosen one of the heat-sink retention screws.
80 Installing Sy stem Components 10 P osition your thumb firmly over the processor socket-r elease leve r and release the lever from the lock ed posi tion by pushing d own and pulling out from under the tab. Rotate the lever 90 degr ees upward until the processor is released from the socket.
Installing Sy stem Components 81 CAUTION: Be careful not to bend a ny of the pins on the Z IF socket when removing the processor . Bending the pins can permanently damage the sy stem board. 12 Carefully , lift the processor out of th e socket and leave the release lever up so that the socket is ready for the new processor .
