■ English 2 Accessories Accessories supplied wit h the outdoor unit: Precautions for Selecting the Location 1) Choose a place soli d enough to bear th e weight and vibratio n of the uni t, where the operation noi se will not be ampli fied.
3 ■ English Indoor/Outdoor Unit Installation Drawings For installation of the indoor units, refer to the insta llation manual which was provided with the units.
■ English 4 Installation • Install the unit horizontally . • The unit may be installed directly on a concrete verandah or a solid place if drai nage is good. • If the vibration may possibly be transmitted to the bu ilding, use a vibration-pr oof rubbe r (field supply).
5 ■ English Outdoor Unit Installation Guideline • Where a wall or other obstacle is in the path of outdoor unit’s inlet or outlet airflow , follow the instal lation guidelines be low . • For any of the below installation pattern s, the wall height on the exhaust side should be 120 0mm or less.
■ English 6 Refrigerant Piping W ork 1. Installing outdoor unit 1) When installing the outdoor unit, refer to “Precautions for Se lecting the Location” on page 2 and the “Indoor/Outdoor Unit Installation Drawings” on p age 3. 2) If drain work is ne cessary , follow the procedures below .
7 ■ English Refrigerant Piping W ork 4. Purging air and ch ecking gas leakage WARNING • Do not mix any substance other tha n the specifie d refrigerant (R410A) into the refrigera tion cycle. • When refrigerant gas leaks occur , ventilate the room as soon and as much as possible.
■ English 8 5. Refilling the refrigerant Check the type of refrigerant to be used on the machine nameplate. Precautions when adding R410 A Fill from th e gas pipe i n liquid form. It is a mixed refrigerant, so adding it in gas form may cause the refrigerant composition to change, p reventing normal operatio n.
9 ■ English Refrigerant Piping W ork Precautions for Laying Refrigerant Piping • Cautions on pipe handling 1) Protect the open end of the pipe against du st and moisture. 2) All pipe bends should be as gentle as possible. Use a pipe bender for bending.
■ English 10 Pump Down Operation In order to protect the environment, be sure to pump down when relocating or disposing of the unit. 1) Remove the valve cap s on the liquid an d the gas stop valves at the pipes for rooms A and B. 2) Run the unit on forced cooling.
11 ■ English Wir ing WARNING • Do not use tapped wire s, stranded wires ( CAUTION 1)), extension co rds, or starburst co nnections, as they may cau se over- heating, electrical shock, or fire. • Do not use locally purchased electrical parts inside the produc t.
■ English 12 Maximum Power Input Limitation Setting WARNING Always shut off the power supply breaker before starting. • The Maximum Power Input Limitation needs to be set when the unit is installed. • This function limi ts the power input of the unit to 1700W .
13 ■ English ECONO Mode Prohibition Setting WARNING Always shut off the power supply breaker before starting. • This setting disables the inp ut control signal from the remote controller . • Use this setting when you wish to block receptio n of input controls (cooling/heating) from indoor unit remote co ntrollers.
■ English 14 T rial Operation and T esting • Before starting the test run, measure the voltag e at the primary side of the safety breaker . • Check that all liquid and gas stop valves are fully open. • Check that pipi ng and wiring all match. 1.
