4 Installation Specifications W ARNING Observe all governing codes and ordinances during • planning and installation. Contact your local building department for further information. T o prevent an electric shock hazard, the power supply • must meet the specifications stated below .
5 Planning the Installation Any openings in the wall behind the appliance or in the • floor underneath it must be sealed. Both the gas supply piping and shut-off valve and the • electrical outlet must be located so they do not interfere with the range when it is installed.
6 Install the Anti-T ip Bracket Locate the anti-tip foot on the back of the range and turn 1. it until the bottom of it is 1/16” (2 mm) off the floor . Backguard Installation If installing a backguard other than the standard 6-inch version, install it before pushing the range into place.
7 Lift the oven door to about a 15° angle from the vertical 3. position. Hold the door with both hands just below the handle. 4. Pull the door up and away from the oven. Door Gripping Points Door Removal Remove the door to make the range easier to move during the installation process.
8 Installation Instructions Gas Connection W ARNING Make sure the gas is turned off at the gas supply • valve before connecting the gas line. V erify that the gas supply meets specifications before • connection. See page 4. Do not apply excessive pressure when tightening gas • connections and fittings.
9 Installation Instructions Installing the Range Peel the protective plastic coating off of the range, 1. including the range door . Uncoil the power cord and route it to the electrical outlet 2. so that it does not become trapped behind the range when it is pushed back.
10 Installation Instructions Cooktop Assembly W ARNING Never attempt to operate the range’s cooktop with any of the burner rings, burner caps or grates removed. Remove the burner rings, burner caps and grates from 1. their shipping cartons. Install the burners as shown.
11 V erifying Proper Operation W ARNING Before operating the range, read the accompanying use and care manual completely . Before beginning the test procedure, make 1. sure all range control valves are in the “ OFF” position, and all burner rings, burner cap and grates are properly positioned on the spill tray .
