Installing Your Audio Card 1 1 Installing Y o ur Audio Card What Y ou Need Most of the items you need for installation are included. The following illustration shows the basic components neces sary for a complete in stallation.
Installing Your Audio Card 2 Installi ng the Audio Card T o in stall the aud io card: 1. T urn off your compu ter, and disconnect the power cable. 2. Di sconnect the monit or and oth er devices that are con n ected to the computer . 3. R emove the comp uter cover .
Installing Your Audio Card 3 6. Align the gold -striped tabs on the bottom of the audio card with the PCI slot, and firmly press the card into place until it fits snugly . 7. Use the screw from the slot cover to secure the audio card to the computer’ s frame—secu ring the car d assur es pr oper gro undi ng.

Installing Your Audio Card 7 Creative L auncher Creative Launcher allows you to or ganize your desktop and open Creative applications quickly . The Creative Launcher i s installed at the to p of your s creen. If it do es not appear , move your m ouse pointer to the top of the screen.
Installing Your Audio Card 8 Creative PlayCenter PlayCent er allows you to play mos t types of media, such as multimedia files (MIDI, W ave , etc.), audio CDs, V ideo CDs and DVD-V ideos. Just insert or select your med ia and PlayCenter does the rest.
Installing Your Audio Card 9 T o play a multimedia file: 1. Launch PlayCenter . 2. On the PlayCenter interface, click the Media button. 3. On the Media menu, click Op en Media File. The Open dialog appears . 4. Select the multimed ia file you wish to play by exploring the directories.

Advan ced Configu rations 3 Connecting to th e Gamepor t The gameport on th e audio card is a standard PC game control adapter or game I/O port. Y ou can connect most analog j oysticks with a 15 -pin D-sub co nnector directly to the port; it wor k s with any application that is compatible with standard PC joysticks.
