6 FIGURE 1 HITCH TUBE 5/16" FLA T W ASHER 5/16" 1-1/2" HEX BOL T 5/16" NYLOCK HEX NUT • Assemble the g rip onto the lift handle. See gure 2. • On the right side, inser t a 5/16" x 1-3/4" he x bolt through a 5/16" at washer and then through the rear hole in the hopper and the hitch tube.
7 FIGURE 4 • F asten the hitch tubes together using three 5/16" x 2-1/4" he x bolts and 5/16" nyloc k hex n uts. Do not tighten yet. See gure 4.
8 FIGURE 9 FIGURE 8 • Inser t the 5/16" x 1-3/4" carriage bolt up through the slot and secure it with a nylon w asher and the plastic wing nut. See gure 9. • Mov e the lift handle into the lock ed position as shown in gure 9 and then tip the spreader back to rest on the wheels and the rear of the hopper .
9 FIGURE 11 • Push two ange bearings into each of the drive disk assemblies . See gure 11. • Push a ange bearing into each of the sev en drive disks, from the side sho wn in gure 12. FIGURE 12 • Press anged bearings into both of the end plates.
10 5/8" FLA T W ASHER COMPRESSION SPRING • Place a 5/8" at washer , the compression spring and another 5/8" at washer onto the shaft. See gure 16. SPIKE DISK LONG SP A CER TUBE • Place two spik e disks, separated b y a long spacer tube, onto the shaft.
11 • Place two 5/8" at w ashers separated by a long spacer tube onto the shaft. See gure 20. FIGURE 20 SPIKE DISK SHORT SP ACER TUBE • Place a spike disk and a short spacer tube onto the shaft. Fit the shor t spacer tube onto the ends of the anged bearings in the spike disk and in the end plate.

13 OPERA TING TIPS • T o help prev ent granular material from compacting and clogging the hopper , avoid unnecessary towing when the hopper ow plates are closed. • Reduce the ow setting f or speeds slow er than 3 M.P .H. and increase the setting f or higher speeds.
