2- 2 Preparing the Oscilloscope for Use To prepare your oscillosco pe for use, you need to do the following tasks. A f t e r y o u h a v e c o m p l e t e d t h e m , y o u w i l l b e r e a d y t o u s e t h e o s c i l l o s c o p e .
2- 3 Setting up the Oscillo scope Aft er you h ave do ne a fe w b asic ta sk s, yo u w il l co nn ect pr ob es to th e oscilloscop e. The number of probes, and the type of probes that you will use depends on the oscilloscope model that you have.
2- 4 Prepa rin g the O scill osc ope f or Use T o adjust the ha ndle To adjust the handle 1 Grasp the ha ndle pivot points on ea ch side o f the instrument and pull the pivo t o ut u nt il it st ops . 2 Without releasi ng t he pivots, swivel the handle to the desired position.

The osci llosc ope power supply automa tically adj usts for input line voltages in the range 100 to 240 V AC.

To completely test and troubleshoot the m ixed-signal oscilloscope, you will create and u se a test connector accessory, as described in this chapter.

6- 2 Replacing Assemblies This chapter describes how to remove assemblies from the oscilloscope. After you have removed an assembly, to install the r eplacement assembly, fol low the instructions in re verse order.
