T ur ning the Camera On and Off In order to use any of the featur es of your ePhoto 780, you must tur n on the camera’ s power . ◗ T o tur n on the ePhoto 780, slide the lens cover open to expose the lens. ◗ T o turn the camera of f, slide the lens cover closed.

T aking Pictures T o take pictures with the ePhoto 780 you must have batteries installed and a removable memor y card inser ted. ! Note: If your camera is connected to a computer , all buttons ar e inactive, except the Focus switch. The camera can only be contr olled from the computer .

The LCD scr een now shows the view as seen through the optical viewfinder . ◗ Frame your shot on the LCD screen and press the shutter button fully to take the pictur e.

Using Memor y Car ds The ePhoto 780 has no internal memory . All images ar e stored on removable memory car ds. These cards ar e available in the following sizes: 2 MB, 4 MB and 8 MB. ! Note: The ePhoto 780 accepts only 3.3 volt SSFDC or Smar tMedia™ removable memory car ds.
Using Memor y Car ds (cont.) Inser ting Memor y Cards T o insert a memor y car d: ◗ T ur n off the camera by closing the lens cover . ◗ Open the memory card compartment cover . ◗ Inser t the memory card with the notched edge toward the top of the camera and push it all the way in.

Reviewing Images in Y our Camera Y ou can review the images stored on the memory card and/or delete them any time. T o r eview individual images: ◗ W ith the camera on (lens cover open), pr ess the LCD button. The LCD scr een displays the last pictur e taken.

Using Y our Camera with a TV Y ou can use a television set as a viewer for your ePhoto 780 by connecting them with the included video cable. Setting the TV T ype Befor e viewing images on a TV , you must set the camera for your TV type: ◗ W ith the camera on (lens cover open), pr ess the Menu button.

T aking Pictur es While Connected to a TV T o take pictures with your ePhoto 780 while it is connected to your TV: ◗ Make sure the camera is connected to your TV . ◗ Pr ess the Video V iewfinder button. The TV now displays the image as seen thr ough the camera’ s viewfinder .
Deleting Images Any or all of the images stored on the memory card in your camera can be deleted at any time. T o delete one or mor e images: ◗ W ith the camera on (lens cover open), pr ess the Menu button. The LCD scr een displays the last pictur e taken along with the main menu.
Deleting Images (cont.) ◗ T o delete all images: – Pr ess the button next to Delete All. A submenu appears. – Pr ess the button next to Delete Now . All unlocked images on the memor y card are deleted and LCD screen goes blank except for the message “No Pictur es.
Locking and Unlocking Images The ePhoto 780 gives you the option to lock images to prevent them fr om being deleted. ! Note: A locked image is indicated by a padlock icon in the image information . T o lock or unlock images: ◗ W ith the camera on (lens cover open), pr ess the Menu button.
Setting the Date and Time If you ar e using the ePhoto 780 for the first time, and whenever you first tur n the camera on after changing the batteries, your camera enters the “ quick-start ” mode. In this mode, you ar e automatically pr ompted to set the date and time.
Selecting the Language T o select a language for the camera’ s menu system: ◗ W ith the camera on (lens cover open), pr ess the Menu button. The LCD scr een displays the last pictur e taken along with the main menu. ◗ Pr ess the Ä button to display additional menu options.
Changing Other Settings Beeps By default, the ePhoto 780 emits an audible beep whenever an image is captur ed or to indi- cate an err or condition. Connecting the Camera to Y our Computer In order to download images to your computer , connect the ePhoto 780 to the computer using the serial cable pr ovided: ◗ Plug the jack at one end of the serial cable into the serial por t on your camera. ◗ PC — Plug the other end of the cable into a serial port on your computer .
Downloading Images into Y our Computer The Agfa PhotoWise software included with your ePhoto 780 is used to download the images fr om your camera into your computer and then to edit your digital images (see the pdf file PhotoW ise Tips or on-line help in PhotoWise for more infor mation).
Downloading Images (cont.) ◗ In PhotoW ise, click on the V iew Camera Images icon ( ) or select View Images in Camera fr om the Camera menu. The images stor ed in your camera appear as a filmstrip: ◗ Click on the Get Camera Images icon ( ) to download all the images.

Using PhotoWise (cont.) ◗ T o delete an individual image or series of images in an album or in the camera, select the images and press the Delete key . ◗ T o delete all the images in your camera, quit the application or close the filmstrip show- ing the camera images.
Using PhotoWise (cont.) QuickLink QuickLink is a convenient way to access your images and use them in any OLE-compliant application (for example, Micr osoft ® W or d). Under W indows, the QuickLink icon ( ) is located at the right-hand side of the task bar .
Using PhotoWise (cont.) T o set QuickLink star t-up options: ◗ PC — Click on the QuickLink icon with the right mouse button. In the menu that appears, choose Options. Select your setting(s) in the Options dialog. (Y ou can also open this dia- log by double-clicking on the QuickLink icon.
