1 ï 1 3M ™ Speedglas ™ 1 00 W eldi ng Sh ield BEF ORE WE LDIN G For your own protection read these instructions carefully before using the Speedglas 100 welding shield. The complete assembly is illustrated in gure A:1. Adjust the welding shield according to your individual requirements to reach the highest comfort.
1 ï 3 If the protection meets the requirements at extremes of temperature (-5°C to +55°C) the marking is completed with the letter T . Additional markings on the product refer to other standards. F UNC TION S On/Off T o activate the welding lter , press the ON/SHADE button.
1 ï 2 The manufacturer is not responsible for any modications to the welding • lter or use with welding shields other than the Speedglas 100 welding shield.
1 ï 4 Sensitivit y set ting ( Spe edglas 1 00V only ) The sensitivity of the photo detector system (which responds to the light from the welding arc) can be adjusted to accommodate a variety of welding methods and workplace conditions. In order to see the current sensitivity setting, momentarily press the SENS button.
1 ï 5 Replacement of welding lter The welding lter can be removed and replaced according to gure E:1 - E:4. Replacement of inner protection plat e The used inner protection plate is removed as illustrated in gure D:1. The new inner protection plate should be mounted after the protective lm is removed as illustrated in gure D:2.
1 ï 6 W ARNI NG Carefully inspect the complete Speedglas 100 welding shield assembly • before each use. Check for cracks in the shield and look for light leaks. Cracked, pitted or scratched lter glass or protection plates reduce vision and can seriously impair protection.
