1 GENERAL Installation of the kettle must be accomplished by qualified electrical installation personnel working to all applicable local and national codes. Improper installation of pr oduct could cause injur y or damage. This equipment is built to comply with applicable standards for manufactur ers.
2 ASSEMBL Y T able-T op Models (3, 6 & 12 gallon) Base Mounting Diagram T able-top models (3, 6 & 12 gallon - single and twin) must be positioned on a firm, level stand, or existing counter top, and bolted in place. These models are supplied with four threaded mounting bushings welded to the underside of the base.
3 W A TER The sealed jacket of the electric kettle is precharged with the corr ect amount of a water based formula, and therefore, no water connection is requir ed to the kettle jacket. The kettle can be equipped with optional hot and/or cold water faucet, requiring 1/2" copper tubing as supply lines.

5 OPERA TING THE KETTLE DO NO T LEAN ON OR PLA CE OBJECTS ON KETTLE LIP . SERIOUS INJUR Y COULD RESUL T IF KETTLE TIPPED O VER, SPILLING HO T CONTENTS. 1. Before turning kettle on, read the V acuum/Pressur e Gauge ( 2 ). The gauges needle should be in the green zone.
6 MARINE LOCK Y our unit is equipped with a marine lock to prevent accidental tilting. The following procedur e should be used to tilt the kettle. 1. Grasp the tilt handle. 2. Hold the latch down to unlock tilting mechanism. 3. Pull the handle to tilt kettle.
7 MARINE LOCK Use a small nylon bristle brush to remove food and debris from pivot point. If lock is still sticking have maintenance disassemble and clean pieces individually and reassemble. Disassembly 1. Disconnect power from kettle. 2. Remove console cover from top of kettle's console.

15 Cleveland Range equipment requir es little preventative maintenance. We do however pr ovide the following chart as a guideline for inspection and maintenance to keep your unit functioning at 100%.
16 BEARING LUBRICA TING PROCEDURE 1. Remove console cover . 2. Loosen two Allen screws on locking ring. 3. Pull locking ring to center of trunnion. 5. Clean newly exposed sections of trunnion. 6. Grease trunnion between kettle and console. 7. Repack outer needle bearing.
17 CALIBRA TING PROCEDURE 1. Insure the unit has a vacuum befor e you begin calibrating procedur es. If unit requires venting r efer to Kettle V enting Instructions on page 18 of this manual. 2. T ur n kettle ON and set temperatur e dial to 10 ( Max.).
3. Remove Guard Bracket (A). 4. Pull Pressur e Relief V alve (B) open to insure vessel is not pressurized. 5. Remove Pressur e Relief V alve (B). 6. Replace Pressur e Relief V alve (B) with Street Elbow (C). 7. Add distilled water (D) through the Str eet Elbow (C), using a funnel if necessary .
MARINE LOCK TESTING PROCEDURE 1. Check that lock clears stop pin on side box without rubbing when kettle is tilted (Figure A ). 2. Check side to side play . Lock should remain fully over stop pin when pushed to it's maximum side to side play (Figure B ).
20 Fault Isolation Pr ocedur e Step T est 1. Is there pr oper incoming voltage at terminal block? 2. Is the red LED illuminated? 3. Is the green LED illuminated? 4. Do both contactors energize? 5. Measure continuity acr oss safety thermostat. Is it an open circuit? 6.
21 Fault Isolation Pr ocedur e Step T est 1. In a cold state, does the pressur e gauge read in the gr een zone? 2. Do the contactors shut off too early? (before r eaching nor mal maximum operating pressur e.) 3. Does the green LED r emain illuminated after the contactors shut off? 4.
22 5. Remove kettle thermistor and allow to cool. Remove edge connector from control box. T est resistance acr oss edge connector's pins #2 and #7. Is it approximately 100,000 ohms? 6. T urn the potentiometer on the control box clockwise to increase the maximum operating temperature.
