12 Description of the appliance P osition “ 60E ” corr esponds to the ENERGY SAVING progr ammefor nor- mally soiled laundry , extended washing time (cannot be combined with QUICK option). The washing temper ature will decr ease and the duration will be pr olonged.
13 SENSITIVE By depr essing this button the washing intensity will be reduced. The machine adds one rinse in the pr ogrammes for CO TTONS and SYNTHET- ICS. This option cannot be used with . QUICK By pr essing this button the washing time is reduced. For use when washing lightly soiled laundry .
DELA Y ST ART button The wash pr ogramme can be delayed fr om 30, 60, 90 minutes and then 1 hour by 1 hour up to a maximum of 23 hour s. The button must be pr essed after selecting the progr amme and befor e pressing the button. The figur es indicating the delay appear for about 3 seconds in the dis- play .
DRYING TIME button If you wish to carry out a timed pr ogramme of dryness push the button until the drying time you want appear s in the display accor ding to the fabrics (cotton or synthetics) you have to dry . For cottons and synthetics you can select a drying time fr om 1 0 minutes to 130 minutes.
Cancelling a pr ogramme T o cancel a progr amme which is running, turn the progr amme selector dial to the RESET/ O position. W arning! After a progr amme which ends with water in the drum ( ), turn the selector dial fir st to O and then to the the , or pr ogrammes.
Deter gent dispenser dr awer Compartment for pr ewash or stain remover . The prewash deter gent is added at the beginning of the wash pr ogramme. The stain r emover is added dur- ing the ST AIN-Action phase in the main wash. Compartment for powder or liquid deter gent used for main wash.
Pr eparing the wash cycle Sorting out and pr eparing the laundry • Sort out the laundry accor ding to type of fabrics and care labels (see “T ypes of fabric and care labels”). • Empty pockets. • Remove any metal parts (safety pins, clips, etc.
W eight of laundry T ypes of fabric and care labels The labels on garments help you to select the most suitable wash pr o- gr amme. The laundry should be sorted out according to the type of fab- ric and the instructions indicated on car e labels. T emperatur es indicated on labels are always maximum temper atures.
Delicates Micr ofibres, synthetics or curtains marked with these symbols r equire a very gentle tr eatment. The DELICA TES progr amme is suitable for this type of fabric. W oollens and particularly delicate items Fabrics such as wool, wool mix or silk marked with this symbol ar e par- ticularly sensitive to machine washing.
21 Deter gents and additives Which deter gent and additive? Use only deter gents and additives for washing machines. Follow the manufactur er’s instructions.
Pr eparing the drying cycle As a dryer , the machine works on the condensation principle. Ther efore, the water tap must be open and the dr ain hose must dr ain water into a sink or into the drain pipe, even during the dry- ing cycle .
Drying symbols on garment labels Always look at the garment label to check whether garments can be machine dried. The following symbols r efer to drying: Machine drying is usually possible Normal dryi.
Additional drying Should the laundry still be too wet at the end of the pr ogramme, set another short drying time. W arning! To pr event the formation of creases or shrinking of fab- rics , avoid excessive drying. How to wash Max. load - cottons 6 kg - synthetics and delicates 3 kg - wool 2 kg Load the laundry Open the door .
25 How to wash Selection of the desir ed wash progr amme T urn the progr amme selector dial to the desir ed position: the lights corr esponding to the different phases making up the selected pr ogramme light on. The display shows the dur ation of the pr ogramme.
26 How to wash EXTRA RINSE This appliance is designed for saving water . However , for people with a very delicate skin (aller gic to detergents) it may be necessary to rinse the laundry using an extr a quantity of water (extra rinse). The extr a rinse is available only with the cotton, synthetics or delicate pr ogramme.
Pr ogramme pr ogr ess display By selecting the wash pr ogramme, the pilot lights corr e- sponding to the various phases making up the pr ogramme come on. After the machine has started, only the running phase pilot light stays on. Display The time to the end of the pr ogramme decr eases minute by minute and appear s on the display .
Automatic washing and drying (NON-ST OP progr amme) W arning! For NON-STOP pr ogrammes, it is also essential not to exceed the maximum load sizes of 3 kg for cotton and 2 kg for synthetics. Load the laundry . Add deter gent and additive. Do not use a dosing device/ball when carrying out a washing & dry- ing pr ogramme.
How to dry Drying only Max. load - cottons 3 kg - synthetics 2 kg During the drying pr ogramme the water tap must be open and the dr ain hose must be correctly positioned. T urn the progr amme selector dial to drying progr ammes indicated by the symbol for cottons or synthetics.

34 Cleaning and maintenance After each wash At the end of the wash pr ogramme, pull the dispenser dr awer out a lit- tle to let it dry . Leave the door ajar to allow air to cir culate. If the machine is not used for a pr olonged period: Close the water tap and unplug the appliance.
Door seal Check fr om time to time the door seal and eliminate eventual possible objects that could be tr apped in the fold. Dr ain pump The pump should be inspected r egularly and particularly if the machine does not empty and/or spin the machine makes an unusual noise during dr aining due to objects such as safety pins, coins etc.
W ater inlet filter If you notice that the machine is taking longer to fill, check that the filter in the water inlet hose is not blocked. T urn off the water tap. Unscr ew the hose from the tap. Clean the filter in the hose with a stiff brush. Scr ew the hose back onto the tap.
37 Something not working? If during the spin cycle the machine makes an unusual whistling noise, differ ent from the noise made by tr adi- tional washing machines, this is due to a new type of motor . If water is not visible in the drum, this is due to the modern technology of new washing machines that use less water than tr aditional machines.

46 Installation Unpacking All tr ansit bolts and packing must be removed befor e using the appli- ance. Using the supplied spanner , unscrew and r emove the 2 r ear bottom screws. Slide out the 2 plastic pins. Lay the machine on its back, taking car e not to squash the hoses.
Set the machine upright and r emove the r emaining rear scr ew . Slide out the r elevant pin. Plug the open holes with the plugs which you will find in the plastic bag containing the instruction booklet. Y ou ar e advised to keep all transit devices so that they can be r efitted if the machine ever has to be tr ansported again.
W ater inlet Connect the water inlet hose to a separ ate tap with a 3/4" thr ead. The inlet hose is pr ovided with a water stop device, which pr otects against damage caused by water leaks in the hose which could develop due to natur al ageing of the hose.
49 The end of the dr ain hose must always be ventilated , i.e. the inside diameter of the dr ain pipe must be larger than the outside diameter of the dr ain hose. The dr ain hose must not be kinked. Run it along the floor; only the part near the dr ainage point must be raised.
