Operating Instructions 10 Contr ol Panel Pr ogramme selector The pr ogramme selector is used to select the type of wash cycle (for example, water level, drum movement, number of rinses, spin speed) and the water temper atur e accor ding to type of washing.
Operating Instructions 11 ST ARCHING Separate star ching, separate conditioning, separ ate treatment of damp clothes (1 rinse, liquid cond itioner is washed in fr om the æ com- partment, spin). This can also be selected if a separa te rinse is necessa ry .

Operating Instructions 15 What does "UPDA TE" mean? The contr ol system of your washin g machine is fully electr onic. The softwar e which determines this co ntr ol system can be repr ogrammed. If a further impr ovement to washing technology is intr o duced by AEG, then your machine can be updated.
Operating Instructions 16 Befor e the first wash 0 Run a washing progr amme without la undry (selecting COTT ONS/LINEN, EASY -C ARES 95, with half the normal amount of detergent). This re moves any r esidues fr om the drum which may have been left during manufacturing .

Operating Instructions 19 Running a washing cycle Brief instructions A washing cycle consists of the following steps: 0 1. Set the appropriate washing pr ogramme: – Set the pr ogramme and temper ature using the pr og r amme selector – Select any progr amme options if requir ed 2.

Set the deter gent dispensing dr awer into the guide tr acks and push it in. Wa s h i n g M a ch in e D r u m The washing machine drum is made fr om rust-free stainless steel.
Operating Instructions 31 Cleaning the dr ain pump P aper clips, nails and so on can sometimes get into the washing ma- chine with the washing and remain in the dr ain pump casing. Fluff and stra nds of fabric can gather on these items and block the dr ain pump.
Operating Instructions 32 What to do if... T rouble Shooting If the appliance is not working correc tly , please carry out the following checks befor e contacting your local Service For ce Centre.
Operating Instructions 33 Wa shing machine vi- br ates during oper ation or is unstable. Tr ansport packaging has not been r emoved. Remove tr ansport packaging accor ding to setting up and connection instru ctions. The machine is not level. Adjust the feet accor ding to installation and connection instructions.
Operating Instructions 34 The dr ain pump runs constantly - even when the applian ce is switched off. The Aqua Control anti-flood system has been activa ted. Close the water ta p, r emove the mains plug and inform your local Service For ce Cen- tr e. Fab ric softener wa s not rinsed in, compart- ment æ for condition- er s is filled with wate r .
Operating Instructions 35 The rinse water is cloudy . The cause is pr obably a de- tergent wi th a hig h silic ate content. No negative influence on the rinse r esults, use a liquid de- tergent if necessary . When pressing a pro- gr amme option button the corresponding dis- play does not light up.
Operating Instructions 36 If the washing r esults ar e not sa tisfactory If the washing turns greyish and limescale deposits ar e pr esent in the drum • Insufficient detergent has been added. • Incorrect deter gent was used. • Stains were not pr e-treated.
Operating Instructions 37 Carrying out an emer gency emptying • If the washing machine no longer pumps out the water , emergency emptying must be carried out. • If the washing machine is located in a room in which below fr eezing temper atur es might occur , emer genc y emptying must be carried out.

Operating Instructions 39 Additional rinse cycle (RINSE+) The washing machine is set for very economical water consumption. However , for people who suffer fr om allergies to deter g ents, it can be helpful to rinse with extr a water .

Operating Instructions 41 V ariomatic spin The variomatic spin is integrated into the final spin. The washing does not cling to the side of the drum as much and can be taken out mor e easily . This can be set with the CO TTONS/LINEN, EASY -CA RES pr o- gr ammes.
Operating Instructions 42 Pr ogr amme Pr otection T o protect a pr ogramme setting agai nst unintentional cha nges or tam- pering (for example, progr amme selector turned or buttons pr essed ac- cidentally , etc.), set the Pr ogr amme Protection. This will pr otect your washing fr om damage.
Operating Instructions 43 Child Safety Featur e If the child safety featur e is set, the door cannot be closed and no washing progr amme can be started. Setting the child safety feature 0 Use a coin to turn the rotary knob on the inside of the door clock- wise as far as it will go.
