6 Instruction for the user Safety information Prior to using for the fir st time ● The safety of AEG/ELECTROLUX appliances complies with the industry standar ds and with legal requir ements on the safety of appliances . However , as manufactur ers , we feel it is our duty to pr ovide the following safety notes.
7 ● Do not use your washing machine to wash articles with whalebones , material without hems or torn material. ● Always unplug the appliance and turn off the water supply after use, clean and maintenance. ● Under no cir cumstances should you attempt to repair the machine your self.
● Befor e washing, ensure that all pockets ar e empty and buttons and zips ar e fastened. Avoid washing fr ayed or torn articles and treat stains such as paint, ink, rust, and gr ass before washing. Underwir ed br as must NOT be machine washed. ● Garments which have been in contact with volatile petr oleum products should not be machine washed.

P our 2 litr es of water into the main wash compartment of the deter gent drawer in or der to activate the ECO valve.

Select the r equir ed pr ogramme Y ou can choose the right pr ogr amme for any type of laundry following the descriptions on the washing pr ogramme tables (see W ashing Pr ogrammes).
Select the spin speed or the rinse hold option Pr ess the Spin button repeatedly to change the spin speed, if you want your laundry to be spun at a speed differ ent from the one pr oposed by the washing machine. The r elevant light will light up. ● for cottons and ECO: 1200 rpm.
Select the Pr ewash option Select this option if you wish your laundry to be pr ewashed at 30°C before the main wash. The Pr ewash ends with a short spin in pr ogrammes for cotton and synthetic fabrics , wher eas in the progr ammes for delicate fabrics the water is only dr ained.
On the display will be visualized the decr eased washing time. The maximum load is 6 kg for cottons and 2 kg for synthetics and delicates . By pr essing this button twice, the relative pilot light r emains lit, the washing dur ation will be reduced to wash lightly soiled laundry or items that have been used or worn for a short time.
Alarm codes In the event of oper ating problems , some alarm codes can be displayed, for example E20 (see par agraph «Something not working»). End of pr ogramme When the pr ogramme has finished a flashing zer o is displayed, the «Door» pilot light and the Start/P ause light go out and the door can be opened.
17 Use Y ou must select this option after you have set the pr ogr amme and before you pr ess the Start/Pause button. The wash pr ogramme can be delayed fr om 30 min - 60 min - 90 min, 2 hour s and then by 1 hour up to a maximum of 20 hour s by means of this button.
Select an additional rinse T his appliance is designed for saving water . However , for people with a very delicate skin (aller gic to detergents) it may be necessary to rinse the laundry using an extr a quantity of water (extra rinse).

Pr eparing the wash cycle Sorting out the laundry Follow the wash code symbols on each garment label and the manufactur er’s washing instructions . Sort the laundry as follows: whites, colour eds , synthetics, delicates , woollens. T emper atur es Befor e loading the laundry Never wash whites and colour eds together .
Maximum loads Recommended loads ar e indicated in the washing progr amme charts . Gener al rules: Cotton, linen: drum full but not too tightly packed; Synthetics: drum no mor e than half full ; Delicate fabrics and woollens: drum no mor e than one third full.
Removing stains Stubborn stains may not be r emoved by just water and detergent. It is ther efor e advisable to tr eat them prior to washing. Blood: tr eat fresh stains with cold water . For dried stains , soak overnight in water with a special deter gent then rub in the soap and water .
Deter gents and additives Good washing r esults also depend on the choice of detergent and use of the corr ect quantities to avoid waste and protect the envir onment. Although biodegr adable, detergents contain substances which, in lar ge quantities , can upset the delicate balance of nature.
Degr ees of water har dness W ater hardness is classified in so-called “degr ees” of har dness. Information on har dness of the water in your area can be obtained fr om the r elevant water supply company , or fr om your local authority .

Car e and cleaning Y ou must DISCONNECT the appliance fr om the electricity supply , befor e you can carry out any cleaning or maintenance work. Descaling The water we use normally contains lime. It is a good idea to periodically use a water softening powder in the machine.

Installation Unpacking All tr ansit bolts and packing must be removed befor e using the appliance. Y ou ar e advised to keep all tr ansit devices so that they can be refitted if the machine ever has to be tr ansported again. 1. After r emoving all the packaging, carefully lay machine on it’ s back to remove the polystyr ene base from the bottom.
4. Unscr ew and remove the two lar ge r ear bolts B and the six smaller bolts C . 5. Remove the br acket D and tighten up the six smaller bolts C . Slide out the relevant plastic spacer E. 6. Open the porthole, take out the inlet hose fr om the drum and r emove the polystyrene block fitted with the adhesive tape on the door seal.
P ositioning and levelling Install the machine on a flat har d floor . Make sur e that air circulation ar ound the machine is not impeded by carpets , rugs etc. Befor e placing it on small tiles, apply a rubber coating. Never try to corr ect any unevenness in the floor by putting pieces of wood, car dboard or similar materials under the machine.
3. Set the hose corr ectly by loosening the ring nut. After positioning the inlet hose, be sur e to tighten the ring nut again to pr event leaks. 4. Connect the hose to a tap with a 3/4” thr ead. Always use the hose supplied with the appliance. Installation should comply with local water authority and building r egulations requir ements .
Important! The dr ain hose may be extended to a maximum of 4 metres . An additional dr ain hose and joining piece is available fr om your local Service Centre. Electrical connection This machine is designed to oper ate on a 220-230 V, single-phase, 50 Hz supply .
