4. Operating In structions 10 8/31/2010 4:41 PM DMX Operation This is the oper ating mode, wh ich will allow for control using an extern al DMX controller . You must set the star ting address for this mod e. If this is your first time using DM X, refer to t he “DMX Primer” section in the Appendix of this manual.

5. Appendix 14 8/31/2010 4:41 PM DMX Primer There are 512 chan nels in a DMX connection. A fixture capable o f receiving DMX will require one or a number of sequential chann els. The u ser must a ssign a starting address on the fixture that indicates the firs t channel re served in the controller.

Do not allow co ntact between th e common an d the fixture’s chass is ground. Ground ing the common can cause a grou nd loop , and your fixture may per form erratical ly.
