5 Daily Oper ation • Containers with flammable gases or liquids can leak at low temperatur es. Ther e is a risk of an explosion! Do not stor e any container s with flamma- ble materials such as, spray cans, fire extinguisher refill cartridges etc in the r efrigerator/fr eezer .
6 Remove tr ansport packaging The appliance and the interior fittings are pr otected for transport. • Remove all adhesive tape and packing pieces fr om the interior of the appliance. D isposal of old Appliances For environmental reasons, refriger ation appliances must be disposed of pr operly .
7 Starting up and temper atur e r egulation W ash the inside of the appliance with lukewarm water with a little bicar- bonate of soda added (5ml to 0,5 litre of water). Do not use soap or deter- gent as the smell may linger . Dry the appliance thor oughly .
8 Low Room Temper ature Switch When the r oom temper ature is + 16° C or less, the Low Room T emperatur e Switch, located next to the thermostat contr ol knob , must be switched on to maintain the corr ect temper atures inside the fridge and fr eezer compart- ments.
9 Fr esh food r efriger ation T o obtain the best performance: • do not stor e warm food or evaporating liquid in the refrigeator • do cover or wr ap the food, particularly if it has a str ong flavour . • P osition food so that air can circuiate fr eely round it.
10 Fr eezing and storing fr ozen food Y ou can use your fr eezer for fr eezing fr esh food your self. Important! • The temperatur e in the freezer compartment must be –18 °C or colder befor e freezing food. • Please observe the fr eezing capacity given on the rating plate.
11 Ice pa ck Ther e is an ice pack in one drawer of the fr eezer . In the event of a power failure or malfunction, the ice pack will lengthen the amount of time it takes for the fr ozen food to become too warm by sever al hour s.
12 Defr osting R e f r i ge r a t or Fr ost is automatically removed fr om the evapor ator of the refriger ator com- partment every time the motor compressor stops, during normal use. The defr ost water drains out through a trough into a special container at the back of the appliance, located over the motor compressor , where it evapo- r ates.
13 Switching off the appliance T o switch off the appliance, turn the temper ature r egulator to position "0" or disconnect fr om the electricity supply . If the appliance i s not going to be u sed for an extended period: 1. Remove all r efriger ated and deep-frozen packages as well as ice tr ays.
