7 HOB BURNERS To light a burner , turn the relevant contr ol knob anticlockwise to the maximum position, then push it down to ignite the burner . Upon, ignition, adjust the flame as r equired. If the burner does not ignite, turn the control knob to zer o, and try again.
8 Before any maintenance or cleaning can be carried out, you must DISCONNECT the hob fr om the electricity supply . The hob is best cleaned whilst it is still warm, as spillage can be r emoved more easily than if it is left to cool.
9 Something Not W orking? If the hob is not working corr ectly , please carry out the following checks befor e contacting your local AEG Service For ce Centre.

19 Fitting the hob to the worktop Before fitting the hob into the cut out, an adhesive seal must be fitted to the underside outside edge of the hob . It is essential that no gaps ar e left in this seal in order to pr event spillage near the hob seeping into the cabinet below .
20 Electrical connection s Any electrical work requir ed to install this hob should be carried out by a qualified electrician or competent per son, in accordance with the current r egulations. THIS HOB MUST BE EARTHED. The manufactur er declines any liability should these safety measures not be observed.
21 P ermanent Connection In the case of a permanent connection, it is necessary that you install a double pole switch between the hob and the electricity supply (mains), with a minimum gap of 3 mm. between the switch contacts and of a type suitable for the r equired load in compliance with the current electric r egulations.
22 Fault Finding Preliminary Electrical Sy stems Check START Isolate appliance and carry out: A: Earth Continuity check. Has inlet fuse blown? Carry out: C: Polarity check. Electricity supply should now be satisfactory. Carry out: D: Resistance to Earth check.

EARTH CONTINUITY CHECK Appliance must be electrically disconnected - meter set on Ω (Ohms) x 1 scale and adjust zero if necessary . — Test leads fr om any appliance earth point to earth pin on plug. Resistance should be less than 0.1 Ω (Ohm), check all earth wir es for continuity and all contacts clean and tight.

25 Commi ssioning When the hob has been fully installed it will be necessary to check the minimum flame setting. T o do this, follow the procedur e below . 1) Turn the gas tap to the MAX position and ignite. 2) Set the gas tap to the MIN flame position then turn the contr ol knob fr om MIN to MAX several times.
26 Conver sion fr om Natural Gas to LPG It is important to note that this model is designed for use with natur al gas but can be converted for use with butane or pr opane gas providing the corr ect injectors ar e fitted. The gas r ate is adjusted to suit.
