4 Important Safety Instructions These warning s are pr ovided in the inter ests of your s afety . Ensur e you fully under stand them before in stalling or u sing the appliance. 5 • Please make old appliances unusable prior to disposal. Pull out the mains plug, cut off the mains cable, br eak or remove spring or bolt catches, if fitted. By doing this you ensur e that children cannot lock themselves in the appliance when playing (ther e is risk of suffocation!) or get themselves into other danger ous situations.

7 Installation Installation Location The appliance should be set up in a well ventilated, dry r oom. Ener gy use is affected by the ambient temperatur e.

15 Fitting the plinth Important! For the efficient oper ation of the appliance, it is important that the original ventilation grid is used. • For an opening height dimension A=820 mm and a plinth height dimension a=1 00 mm, the plinth may be fitted without adjustments.

Oper ating and indicator panel Important! Starting up and temper ature r egulation T urn the thermostat control knob (1) in the dir ection of “1” . The gr een light (3) and the red light (4) come on, the audible warning sounds (if fitted), and the r efrigeration motor starts up. Additionally oper ate the fast-freeze switch (6).
21 • Please observe the fr eezing capacity given on the rating plate. The fr eezing capacity is the maximum quantity of fresh food that can be fr ozen within a period of 24 hours. If you wish to fr eeze food sever- al days in a r ow , please observe a maximum capacity of only 2/3 to 3/4 of that on the r ating plate.
22 Once the r equired stor age temper ate has been reached, pr ess the fast fr eeze button again. The yellow light goes out. Tips: • The following ar e suited for the packaging of frozen goods: – fr eezer bags and polyethylene wraps; – special container s for frozen goods; – extr a–thick aluminium foil.
Defr osting During use and when the door is opened, moistur e is deposited as fr ost inside the appliance, particularly on the evaporator melts. This fr ost must be removed fr om time to time using the soft plastic scr aper supplied. Under no cir cumstances use hard or pointed objects for this purpose.
Switching off the appliance T o switch off the appliance, turn the thermostat control knob to posi- tion "0". If the appliance i s not going to be used for an extended period: Remove all deep-fr ozen packages as well as ice-trays. Switch off the appliance by turning the temper ature r egulator to position "0".
Switch off the appliance and unplug it. Clean the appliance and the interior accessories with a cloth and lukewarm water . Commercially available dish washing deter gents may also be used. After cleaning wipe with fr esh water and rub dry . After everything is dry , switch to fast freeze.
26 Ener gy Saving Tips • Do not install the appliance near boiler s, radiator s or other sour ces of heat. High ambient temper atures cause longer , more fr equent oper ation of the compressor . • Ensur e sufficient air circulation and exhaust at the appliance base and at the back wall of the appliance.
27 Symptom s Appliance does not work, no pilot light is illuminated. P ossible Cau se Appliance is not switched on. Mains plug is not plugged in or is loose. Fuse has blown or is defective Socket is defective. Mains malfunctions are to be corrected by an electrician.
28 Symptom s P oss ible Cause Remedy The compressor starts after a period of time. This is normal, no error has occurred. The compressor does not start immediately after changing the temperatur e setting.

30 Noises during Oper ation The following noises ar e characteristic of r efriger ation appliances: • Click s Whenever the compressor switches on or off, a click can be hear d. • Humming As soon as the compr essor is in operation, you can hear it humming.
